As much as I'd love to poke fun, I've never used the DA, so I wouldn't even know where to begin to goof on it.

Technology isn't my thing, now you see why not! As soon as you learn how to use it....they run an update and it's A. F. U. for awhile, and then you have to learn the new system, all over again.

Orvil,

I had the same exact problem on an older computer - never fixed it. It is annoying but now that know which buttons to select you are good to go. When I upgraded to a new computer the problem resolved itself.

FWIW - there is probably a very simple way to fix this issue but I never did find it.

Try holding ctrl down and then moving the mouse wheel forward and backward -- that will zoom web pages, not sure if it will work with the DA.

I'm here to help.

What we're going to do is start by looking at several of your bidding options, and then have you pick one, and we'll do a renovation, where we'll change absolutely nothing.

Think of it like our version of the Property Brothers. So, let's start off with a little man spreading...

Now your first option with your bid is to hand it to schedulers on paper. To do this we need you to first ignore the request by the company to not print out the entire bid packet in the crew room. I feel pretty confident you can do that Timbo. So now that that's done, go ahead and throw that paper away. We can't hand bids in for someone else to do.

Our second option is this cramped, old and dated web based bidding software known as PBS (Navtech). You can find this not so move-forward ready program on Deltanet. It's not easy to use and since we cannot rennovate computer software, we're going to move on.

Now I want to set you up with the perfect product, it's a bit pricier, and probably outside of your bidding budget of $0. It's one of these vendor based programs where you download the schedule or something, pay something, and then do your bid. It probably works. But, it's not free and if you're like me you'll become frustrated that you can't get it to download and give up on it only to find out the next month that you were charged $9 for multiple downloads.

So that brings us to the Desktop Application. This is a perfect option for you because it's free. And you're an airline pilot. So there.

But I promise you, once I finish explaining it you'll love it, but first more man spreading,

and now for the quick explanation of the "DA". First, figure out how to download it. And whatever else you have to do to make it work. Once it's working, you hit Add or something. Whatever it takes to get to the point where you say Start Bid Group. Once there you can bid. You can press that bid button and make a bunch of choices like PREFER OFF JAN 31-FEB2 28. Or NO 5 DAY TRIPS. Stuff like that. You can also hit ANALYZE trips and see how many trips actually meet those constraints or how many trips you just denied yourself.

Or you can go all a-MANuel. Here, you hit pairings. Now you can specific on the right side what you want and hit SEARCH. The pairings will show up on the left. You can highlight one and hit the green AWARD button and it'll pop over to your BID. Or you can hit CTRL something and do several at once. You can resort them but note it will always put them in numeric order. You have to change that on the bid page. Anyways, the end.

I'd write more. But I'm done.

Next episode we learn how to get Slowplay to post by using keywords like flight play loss, contract, ALPA sucks. We will also have an episode on how to get Bar to post by saying things like unity and 88 sucks. Since that is a simple show, we'll also incorporate how you can get Newk and Buzzpat to post by using keywords such as Obama, Obamacare, Chicago, Packers, Bears, Bears Suck, Suh and Bill Clinton. The next episode will be tricky, we all know we can get 80ktsclamp to post, that's not a problem, the question is can you do it outside of 80ktclamps (east coast based pilot mind you) vampire like posting window of 1am-4am. I might throw in a little extra there, how to get Sailingfun to post data.

The season finale will be where you learn how to keep FTB from posting. Let me warn you, that show will end with discussions of quantum cosmology, M Theory and Anthropic Principle.

80ktsclamp, bad news. Not only did Kaley Cuoco...

... get married. But she dropped this bombshell. "I was never that feminist girl demanding equality... I cook for [husband ] five nights a week: It makes me feel like a housewife; I love that. I know it sounds old-fashioned, but I like the idea of women taking care of their men. I'm so in control of my work that I like coming home and serving him. My mom was like that, so I think it kind of rubbed off."

And you just let her get away.
