Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
... may have found the mother lode of aviation themed underboobiage.
Sexy girls photos 2014/12/30 - Avions de chasse
So this French Pilot set up a web site & app that has girls send pictures and videos for him to Certify them into his modelling, party, corporate entertainment business. The whole shebang* is aviation themed & so blatant even the French think it is sexist.
I think FTB is brilliant. Can not believe someone beat him to this idea.

* pun intended
I'd love to take credit. But I'm just a lowly jet guy flying ASA Brasilia routes to northern Florida, eastern Mississippi and eastern Tennessee.
That to me sounds like the work of Monsieur Ferd. He flies a french plane to french destinations. And now it's painfully obviously I totally missed the boat not reading this....
but who knew you still needed to know freaking French?
So went to see Unbroken. It was okay. Don't mind sending a few dollars to hollywood for that movie but it was kind of flat at the end. I guess. Maybe if you know the subject you just expected more.
Anyways. There was a trailer for that 50 Shades of Grey. So that was a book. Can kids do book reports on that? Kind of looked somewhat scary imho.

That is why we need a GS RAW score. GS's should be given out in seniority order to the person with the least amount of GS hours, not number of GS's. That way you can take the 1 day GS instead of turning it down so you don't burn your GS# for a longer, better paying one.
Most of the GS's that I don't acknowledge are for just this reason. I hate to take a 1 day GS on a Thursday then see a bunch of 3 days go out over the weekend. A GS raw score would solve that issue.

What we really should do is switch them back to double credit no pay and bring back bow wave. Delta would have to hire 2000 pilots over night!
In regard to reserve pay, are we payed the ALV-2 for our plane/city combination, or just the jet itself? For example, ALV - 2 in NYC 717 means we're getting the contact mandated minimum, but if you average NYC, DTW, and ATL ALVs then the amount will probably be higher.
Thanks!

What they don't like but is still legal is a pilot who puts in a full month GS and never answers the phone. On a busy day they might have to call that pilot a dozen times for each trip that comes into open time. Drives them nuts because they know he is not going to answer but they still have to call both numbers and wait 10 minutes before moving on.
I specifically asked the then head of skeds, some 10 years ago, while in charm school, why all ws/gs/ia can't be a proffer... you are always going to get someone to take the trip for double pay... even on Xmas.
Then everyone would pick up the phone on the first ring... one call, then move on... everyone wins.
His response was: "you pilots want everything your way". This was in front of the entire charm school class.
I tried to explain that a ws/gs/ia is not reserve and the "everyone wins" part (including his schedulers). Also, if the company treated us like adults, we would act like adults, (instead of hiding like 10yo school boys), but he wanted no part of that.
Further, there is no way to put in a specific slip to cover all the changing contingencies that occur in one's life.
Therefore, I'll keep my blanket slips in for the month, thank you very much.

but "spiritually" I don't think it's right. Meaning, it's not fair to the schedulers trying to get a flight covered or other pilots that are waiting around for a green slip but may not be able to take it once the call comes down to him because now it's an hour later and the scheduler needs the pilot there immediately (I for one live over an hour from the airport).
See above
I think the green slip system is a great part of our contract, but I think there's room for improvement. For example, I know I've missed out on green slips for the next day when I was flying at the time. I'm curious if it would be possible to accept a trip while flying, similar to how reroutes are sent.

Too bad, so sad.

I also put in blanket slips but I do try to tailor them to what I want. I have declined many GS's after answering the phone and not once has scheduling demanded I fly the flight. Usually I get a response like "thank you for answering I will move on." I find that if you treat them like adults they return the favor with perhaps two exceptions.
I once flew often with a real gem of a CA who called the flight attendants every 30 minutes and demanded they bring him something. As soon as they left the cockpit he would toss the item in the garbage. He thought it was fun to increase their workload.
It would be fun times for sure.

So your goal for putting in blanket white slips or at least not tailoring them to something close to what you would fly is to increase crew schedulers workload and mess up your fellow pilots who might have wanted the trip but can't make the report by the time they wade through the make work crowd?

I've met you a couple of times... seem like a good guy... but I swear I shake my head at some of the things you say.
Don't know where you came up with any of the above. You may want to re-read my post.
As I heavily implied, of course I put qualifiers in... just impossible to account for every possible contingency.
As far as turning down gs's on the phone... either they know your SF or you've never been involved in a very short staffed situation (i.e., no one else with gs for that trip).
And I do treat every one with respect, like adults... but definitely have not always received the same back in kind... except in Japan!
Also, just to be clear, you favor a system that is completely skewed to the company? I.e., one answers the phone and sked may or may not allow you to pass on the gs out of the kindness of their hearts?... because that sure is not contractual... and it sure has not worked in my favor in the past.
