Opus,

DFW has pitched to several people, including Jet Blue and Airtran. They offered big landing fee discounts and real (almost free) gate rent. But, no one wants to take on AA or Southwest across town.

In fact, the DFW board offered big discounts to get Southwest out there but Southwest said no, that they didn't do big hub airports like that. Then less than a month later, they announced they were going to dive into an even more expensive DEN. DFW was ****ed to say the least.

As much as I'd like to, I don't see a DFW base in the New Delta future.

Heyas Ferd,

Yup. This last winter, you'd pull in, and you'd barely have time to run the QRM for de-icing. They'd plug in, the two trucks would drive past, you'd get your numbers, and you were out of there...and that was WITH type 4.

Best de-icing operation I've ever seen...anywhere.

Nu,

Yeah, and I always like the guys in the buckets. With their lights on they seem like something out of ET. I always stick my hands up before they shoot the windscreen, normally gets a laugh.

I was always too busy moving my coffee so I wouldn't get a dose of laxitive.

Reminds me of my VR days with the Navy flying C-9B's and DC-9's. Our map cases would always fill with water. Still you gotta love a machine with a 280 KT Flap Speed (Flaps-5).

Yeah, just a little tank, loved the thing! Commuter cruise, 220K to the marker and then still on speed at 1000'..........but, it does leak deicing fluid!

Default Merger Timeline

Any rumors on when the merger will be complete. Last I heard was this winter, better hurry. A little equity stake $ would make year one pay a little easier.
Thanks

I've heard October-November is when the DOJ should render their decision.

For you NW guys, how does the seniority fall in your bases? I know that SEA and PDX are very senior, and assume that DTW and ANC are near the bottom.
