Let's not forget that we are, each of us, one of 12,000 assets that the company relies on the conduct business. It doesn't matter how lofty our ideals, and our sense of self-worth: management views us without maudelin sentiments, the way a store owner might view the guard dogs he leaves on the property at night.

A pilot that can't stomach union tactics is like a dog that won't bear it's teeth when pushed beyond the threshold: it'll only get invite more abuse. Or, if it's lucky and whimpers enough, it'll get "promoted" to lap-dog status, and pee the rug when it overflows with gratitude from receiving the occasional pat on the head.
Sink,

I don't mind being a union "thug." I just hate the rat because my union didn't went to the trouble of bringing it out and blowing it up AFTER we (and I use that word loosely) voted in a crappy *** contract.

It just brings back bad memories. All I remember thinking is, "yeah, you voted for the contract, but you blew up a rat. That'll show 'em."

If there is a choice to be made between the two the next time, I hope they keep the rat in storage and vote no.

I would think they'd know immediately who won but I'm sure there is some sort of ratification and signatures to be done.

Maybe by noon?

I guess Moak is celebrating. Maybe they can celebrate at the Waldorf with a big open bar on our dime- as usual.

The Council had more information than ever. The questionaire certainly highlighted the differences and most likely propelled AG and LD into office. LD showed that he would stand on his principles. MH also had some great answers. DN was a strong candidate too. I think he will be a leader in our union.

Guys, the pilots have spoken, and there are a few really good things here.

1) 38% voted and that is amazing. It is a great turnout for ATL. Keep that in mind!

2) We have all new eyes on the deal.

Let all give our new reps our full support going forward. They all have my unabridged support. I will help them with whatever they need. Lets get behind these guys and make them support us. There are some really good guys in there.

I have talked to many of them extensively and they should serve us well.

I congratulate all of them on a successful campaign.
