It's slightly more complicated than that, but yes.

The Company wanted some changes to fix some foreign domicile issues, and the MEC agreed to negotiate an interim agreement prior to Section 6 that fixed the aforementioned issues and also allowed for 3% raises over 2 years while they continued to work through the outstanding issues. The intent was to shorten the negotiations timetable by continuing talks while still gaining contractual improvements, so that at the end of the two year interim agreement there would be little if any open issues. Management at FDX has used that to delay and protract negotiations even further, and on Oct. 31, FDX mgt. applied for mediation with the NMB, yet another stall tactic.

A more accurate way for me to say it would be that they have been in direct and comprehensive negotiations for 42 months. They are roughly 20 months beyond their most recent amendable date.

FYI, mgt. also dropped a "we want to terminate the pension" on the negotiations table last week. Gigantic azzhats in upper management over there.....

Must be pretty junior in category.

Don't forget that you can ask for a hotel room, so long as you live more than 50 miles from the training center.

The most senior pilot on reserve is guaranteed any day(s) off that he wants, so long as it results in a legal reserve line. With 1-14 reserve lines, at least one pilot is guaranteed to have any given day off. With 15-19 reserve lines, at least two pilots are guaranteed to have any given day off. With more than 19 reserve lines, at least 15% of reserve pilots are guaranteed to have any given day off.

Thanks it worked. Whew. Not enough constraints on a ws.

Do unused payback days get liquidated at the end of the vacation year or do they carry over?

Thanks Scoop

If you don't use them in the current year they become earned vacation days for the next year.

NYC 7ER is now going to Hawaii a bunch. Directly and through LAX. That 5:15 really shuffled the flying around. Looks like Atl is now doing the JFK-MEX along with NYC.

What do you mean by "directly"? Is Delta adding NYC to HNL nonstop?

The best place to see what you can do with payback days is explained in detail in the Scheduling Reference Handbook available on the Dalpa website. In good reader on my iPad, the answer is on page 104. Read all the questions and answers for what I said below.

Short answer, they become supplemental days and you bid them with next years vacation. There is a way to use them in the first 3 months of the year but you need to reference the above to see how to do that.
