I do not know if they are willing to offer that right now. Ask the CP's or the support center.

Submit the request to CP and see what happens. They can only say no. They can't kill you and eat you.

A FA told me about a rumor of seasonal service to St. Petersburg, Russia out of JFK.
Anyone heard anything along the same lines?

Thanks

Yes, and it was initially planned to be seasonal but I think that they decided to make it year round.
Not sure when the service will start. There is some talk about it on the DALPA board.
Ask Steve next Wed when he comes it. His info is honest and straight to the point. If he cannot say he will tell you.

As a update. The bid planned for Aug will now be in the first two weeks of Oct. The company code a phone states it will be a large bid combining the Aug and Dec bids. He hints there will be lots of movement.

"Good" movement or displacements?

Well, they got 777's to staff. Any movement has to be in the upwards direction.

"Lots" of movement must mean backfill. With the merger almost here and SLI news in November, this will be a very active bid.

I just hope they do not shrink the 767 domestic category and it looks like that might be in the cards.

Spiff are you sure that you can be happy about this?
It means the company is doing well. It might be seen a Kool-Aid drinking to support a prosperous company.

That is good. I would guess that there would be back-fill. FWIW we will need more pilots in the international categories due to longer trips and more DH. As stated the cost is too great to open new bases now and then have a rebid after SOC.

ACL,

If a bid with new bases comes out after DCC in Oct. (such as SEA 7er for Delta guys and ATL 747 for NW guys), why would Delta need to rebid them after SOC? Delta pilots would bid for one and NW pilots would bid for the other and after SOC, if there are any more vacancies, both groups could bid barring any fences. Maybe I'm ignorant, but where is it going to cost the company more money?

The costs are associated with the moves. I asked this of Steve with the wed. chats. He stated that it was cost prohibitive to open those to us until after SOC.
I hoped we could do that too, but as of recent it appears that we will get to sit in 43D all the way to SEA to start our trips. Yuck. I was hoping for lots of new choices.
Maybe they will have a change of heart. Lets hope so.
