Mr. Anderson has stated the same thing. (I believe at a LCA meeting?) Even more so than United, based on the competitor balance sheet's their putting forward.

Interesting. Also, not sure anybody noticed but AA is adding routes into/out of Delta hubs including the fortress hub in Atlanta. They don't seem afraid. Apparently Parker has sobered up and is ready to compete. They are building up their Miami and LAX hubs as well.

American: We're the Biggest at LAX and We Want to Get Bigger - TheStreet

Since June 2013, American has added flights from LAX to Eugene, Ore.; Redmond, Ore; Pittsburgh; Indianapolis; Columbus, Ohio; Northwest Arkansas and Sao Paulo. New destinations this month include Edmonton, Vancouver and San Antonio. Tampa will be added in November, Atlanta in March.

American has more plans for LAX. New airplanes including the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A350 could play a role, Nocella said. In discussing gate constraints, he said, "We would like to find a way to grow" but declined to offer specifics.

Asked why an airline that is building its LAX hub has recently put two China flights and a Hong Kong flight in Dallas, Nocella responded: "It's one step at a time. Our first priority was to get DFW up to all the key points in Asia -- Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul and we are soon to have Beijing.

"In my mind we have completed that homework assignment and now we are moving to explore what can happen at LAX," he said.

I'll put Lorenzo's henchman against any CEO bar none. He just happens to be in the airline business at the moment.

All I can say is "where they gonna park?"

Default DTW base visit

SD and his team came to DTW yesterday. I couldn't stay for all of it, but good news for DennyCrane. Seattle is going to get bigger. It's an important part of the NRT overflight strategy. We're going to be getting 4 more gates, and talks are ongoing to decide about staying in separate terminals or consolidating into one.

That is all

Did they mention plans for DTW? Is that going to be shifting to more of a Domestic base?

I don't think Richard has to say much of anything, actions speak... no more 777 departures out of DTW in a week or two, and they just parked 1/4 of the 747 fleet, which DTW is the only base.

My money says the new 330s coming will operate across the Atlantic, upgauging 767 routes and some Seattle flying.

I don't see DTW getting any international love soon...
