Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
He won't be faced with making that choice. That's why he doesn't care.
I don't buy for a second that the company doesn't want CDO's. That's why DALPA is pushing so hard for them. The small group of fNWA pilots who want them is just an excuse.
I guess the CPO can tell me I'm "like a bunch of old women" when I refuse to sign the release to fly fatigued.

sailing is right.... I don't want the damned things either, but getting this spun up is ridiculous.
You guys are like a bunch of old women on the CDO thing. I realize it's part of a anti ALPA rhetoric to keep bringing them up but here is the simple truth. The company can take them or leave them. They are not pushing for them. CDO's originated with the pilot group. If the contract survey shows they are not wanted that will be the end of the story. Find something new to whine about. If you're concerned about them then get your survey filled out.
Me too! And if the contract gets passed and I end up getting assigned to fly one, one of two things will happen:
1 - I will find some way to get out of the trip and some other poor sucker will have to fly it.
2 - If I end up getting stuck with the trip, I will be calling in fatigued for the morning flight. I will not sign a release certifying I'm fit to conduct a flight when I'm fatigued. That is illegal and irresponsible. (How do you guys think CDO's came to be known as "illegals" in the first place? )

This. Just don't sign the release. FOs too. We both sign now.

are you serious sailing? I rarely come on here to complain usually it's a positive note and you have to chime in and tell me I need to stop whining and pick something else. You are one of the kings of whining and you're going to tell me what I can and can't say on here? who died and made you king of this forum?

Probably not and I put no way on CDO's in my survey. I do however doubt they are nearly as fatiguing as some of the international we do. Nothing like a 12:30 AM body time wake up in CDG to ride a bus for 1.5 hours to then sit at the airport for 2 more hours then depart for CVG at 4:40 body time. Might even get hit with a 2 or 3 hour delay and have been up all night before you depart.

Having not had the opportunity to sit in CDG waiting for a hotel room or a van before going back for a couple hours of rest and a movie while at cruise, I can't comment on the fatigue you must have to endure. But having had the pleasure of multiple BHM, HSV, GSO, SDF, CMH, CLE, ect. turns on reserve on multiple NB's, I can safely say that CDO's will become a safety concern for those pilots forced to "hack it" over a prolonged period of time.
I'm sure you've done your share of multiple short turns as well..we're just more likely to have to fly CDO's if they become reality in the near future...thus, the whining.
