Can someone explain the thought behind early profit sharing? I'm guessing there is a tax benefit of some sort?
Not to us. Perhaps to the company. I think the company is breaking it up to soften the blow to Wallstreet. In the modern business world there are few sins greater then giving money to workers that could go to stockholders. The Valentine check was going to be huge. Now it's merely going to be large.

Default oil

Where have all the certain Peak-oil guys gone? I hope our guys preaching this for years haven't lost their arse. It sure seemed like a convincing argument years ago. Refining capacity and crack spread is not heard of much these days either. I know I didn't think oil would be where it is today. Good news for us!!.....Mo Money for Ma D=Mo Money for you and me. At least thats what I've been hearing for years.

This was discussed at the LAX roadshow. No tax benefits to the company or us. It was suggested that it was a good deal for the employees but I think Sailing is on to something.

No one mentioned Wall Street but it seems the most plausible reason.

I remember those guys. T-Boone Pickens was their Gandhi. Books were written, heads spoke on CNBC, fortunes were made and lost. All for a load of BS.

Maybe they're hanging with the gold-bugs.
