Sooo... another Dot is that Air Berlin had switched their 787-8 order to 787-9. Also, remember Emirates cancelled their order for I think 70 A350s, which opens up some slots in that airplane's order book.
Emirates order for the 350 was a political cancelation when they were denied the right to fly from EU countries to the US. They have made it clear they will reinstate the order given the freedom to fly from the EU.

Ok - but is Airbus holding those slots? A bird in the hand....

As soon as they got the "K" out of Captain I said, I'm drunk and not fit for flight, to which they responded, "fine we will drop the first round trip and junior assign ... or you can expect a call from your Chief Pilot." I say, "have the Chief Pilot call me, and oh, when did you move Crew Scheduling to Denver Colorado?" At which point they hung up rather than have a recorded call discussing how they were coming in on a 720 area code.

I guessed correctly the Chief Pilot on Duty Christmas Eve was junior to me. I ensured he got the trip he had coming to him
Was it those snakes at Surejet?

Quick questions; please indulge me. I just want to clear up some rumors.

Did you attend the ALPA BOD meeting? If so, in what capacity? Did you receive FPL?

Thanks.

Maybe this has changed with the new agreement:

But, aren't golden days important when they assign you a shortcall on your last day of reserve? If you have a GD after it, you are done at noon. If not, you could be on the hook all day and night. Right?

It doesn't happen too often, but when it does, it sucks.

Looks like I'm late -- again.

What does this have to do with anything? BB has been nothing but a DL pilot advocate and scope hawk over the years.

You have to be done with SC at 1200 on a golden day.
If you work the system and put a PD in the middle of a 3 day block of revs days and have a golden day on the last day, your odds are good you just got yourself 3 extra days off. So I do give a crap.

Also if you commute they work in your favor.

Bummer - you get SC on your Golden Days.

I think what you meant to say is you will be released at noon on the last day prior to a golden day. ***

And to whoever was asking - Yes this is about the most valuable feature of a Golden Day.

*** They can fly you past noon but if no flying is assigned by noon you will be released.

That would be nice but the IRS won't allow it. The profit-sharing money is not "qualified" retirement money. It's ordinary income. Only the 15% is qualified money.
You can put the profit-sharing into your 401(k) but not into the DPSP. If you've already hit the $17,500 limit into your 401(k) then you are out of luck. The profit-sharing is taxable wages.
