Anyone know how many of those guys (age 64.5+) are on the Whale today, and system wide? There's a few (5?) on the 777 in ATL, not sure about DTW 777.
From the crew resources seniority list, one 744A turns 65 later this month. There are 13 744As that turn 65 in 2015.

There are 5 ATL 777As that turn 65 later this year. In 2015 there are 19 ATL777As and 3 DTW77As that turn 65.

My understanding is that the company won't displace any 744As until January, after the fence is down. Nothing requires that of course (they certainly could post a displacement bid prior to then) but I thought I read that somewhere.

From the Negotiator's Notepad

In the event there are fewer than 25 B747 Captain Program participants, then the 25 most senior non-B747 Captains who properly apply will participate in the Program.

Looks to me that even if zero 747 captains retire, 25 .non-B747 still get the good deal

Well the bottom 30 can't hold the 777 anyway, so it doesn't really matter. For every early retirement though, they get to hold onto that seat just a little longer. That is exactly why this is bad precedence. Artificial seniority.

Won't happen with 757 retirements which will cause far more displacements/stagnation over the long haul.

Properly apply? Sounds like they're talking to high schoolers not 777 Captains.

They would like a base staffed under the flight attendant model. That means no reserves. If we were to agree to contractual changes to allow that it's a very good thing for the company.

Hey, not to start a stampede to the DL Net, but some of the Oct. Capt. lines are available via the backdoor.
