Think you must have me confused with someone else.

My buddy in MSP said one of the guys running for FO rep is married to a flight ops manager in the MSP CPO?? Can anyone confirm?

If so...gives new relevance to the complaint that ALPA is in bed with management.

On the surface, that potential situation seems fraught with downside for the pilot group.

I would hardly call a flight ops base manager management unless were talking about Angie in NY!

In fact, how doesn't that help me?

First of all, I'll betcha no where near 25 guys will take it. 15 if we are LUCKY. The 25 non-74 guys will take it, but won't be displaced anyway until they are supposed to leave. So those guys get a really really really good deal. They get the package, and get to hang around until they have to retire anyway, AND.. get a really nice bonus check just for signing up. All the 747 early retirement does is protect the bottom 31 -74 guys. All this will do is postpone the inevitable, and give a really select group a great deal. IMHO, it sets a horrible precedence, and bails the company out of a bunch of training. You and I get bupkus out of this deal. Carl and his buddies get a great deal... again.

I have no clue what a micro base is. It's not much ado about nothing because this sets a bad precedence and singles out a few pilots for a good deal. But I guess we will offer this again when they announce the second wave of 747 retirements too. But somehow, the training cascade that will be generated by the 757 retirements isn't as important. I wonder why.

The Aramaic translation of "hur", which is supposedly virgin, scholars now believe refers to a white raisin. So the martyrs get 72 white raisins when they die, LOL!

These guys are Brilliant!

I swear, they only do it to justify their own existence!

Here's a CLUE for those clueless nitwits:

Delta only has 18 777's!!

BASE THEM ALL IN ATL (like they were at one time) and let everyone DH from there! (you morons!)

They are talking about similar things. Think about what a "mini base" or "micro base" would be like.

Think of what 777/747 guys (who are a majority commuters) would love.

Far more important would be the impact on category block hours if we allow a micro base if how the company wants it staffed is true. The model they want is identical to the flight attendant mini bases. A micro base is simply not cost effective under the current contract. You would have to carry far to many reserves. If you did not need reserves now it's a new ball game. Start talking to your reps.
