Default What if?

What if the 4 whale pulldown is just the first shot? What if the real plan calls for 8 more to disappear in 2015? What if they all disappear in 2015? Just sayin'.

I think that's what many of us have thought about. The company will park more whales right as we start contract negotiations. The company will then offer to replace them if we only give up???

The mechanics behind the transaction is interesting to me. We know the earliest lease expiration is 2017. Is Delta just going to park them and continue to pay the leases? Is the lessor agreeing to take them back 2.5 years early from a non-bankrupt company? If so, what agreement did the leasing company get from Delta in return?

Those are the same terms as I understood, I knew they would start going away then but 2 years early is a little intriguing. 747-400's have very little re-sale value so I doubt they are part of any deal. I'm not a black helicopter guy but could this be pre- contract positioning?

Interesting intel....are all 747's leased? If so, I can see a possible play here!

Think leases on 747 are relatively cheap compared to 777 or 330. I'm sure that figured into the discussion when they decided to park the A/C..
