Thanks Bar and Sailing et al. I hadn't heard anything and this floored the Capt and I. After 14 years I'm ready for a little movement.

I'm not sure that timeline is still accurate. I was told it was the 25th of the month prior to training, not two months out. I was able to input my Sept. training bids today, it showed all the Sept. sim periods available to bid. Otherwise, I'm guessing it would have said words to the effect of, "Sept. Bids Closed".
If you can assemble a bike or a swing set, it's about that easy. A 3/16 roll pin punch and a $25 barrel wrench are about the only special tools you need, and I've done it without the punch.
An afternoon in the hotel browsing AR15 dot com and YouTube is all the training you need. It's like building with Legos.

But think about it - you were able to input bids for Sept because it is still "before the end of the bid period, two months out". You have to bid by the end of the July period, so they can process and award the CQ bid by Aug 5th, so you can bid your Sept schedule.

That's straight out of the Aug 14 bid package.

I've been working on my Aug. sched all day and had it in my head we were already into August...sorry!
Beer's on me!
Most of what the Delta pilots are feeling has nothing to do with 117. We were overstaffed for many years and the company spread that over staffing throughout the copilot seats in most fleets. I know guys who only flew on reserve 3 to 4 days a month for years. That surplus is now gone and times have changed.

Go look at the Aug. Wide Reports for ATL A320, A's.
I saw lots of schedules that were working 15 days in a row!
Ouch!
Yeah, that FAR117 is going to give you a LOT more rest...in a motel room somewhere far away from home!
