Thanks Bar and Sailing et al. I hadn't heard anything and this floored the Capt and I. After 14 years I'm ready for a little movement.

Thanks. Here's the timeline for bidding.

For example, if you "Due Months" are Nov 14 - Jan 14, you need to bid by the last day of the Sept bid period.

I'm not sure that timeline is still accurate. I was told it was the 25th of the month prior to training, not two months out. I was able to input my Sept. training bids today, it showed all the Sept. sim periods available to bid. Otherwise, I'm guessing it would have said words to the effect of, "Sept. Bids Closed".

An afternoon in the hotel browsing AR15 dot com and YouTube is all the training you need. It's like building with Legos.

That's straight out of the Aug 14 bid package.

But think about it - you were able to input bids for Sept because it is still "before the end of the bid period, two months out". You have to bid by the end of the July period, so they can process and award the CQ bid by Aug 5th, so you can bid your Sept schedule.

Well maybe reserves are flying more, but the ALV/TLV formula is still the same so in theory block holders should not be flying more. The biggest hit I've noticed is that they now can stack domestic trips back to back as long as you get a 30 hour layover somewhere within 168 hours. Since we do so many 30 hour layovers, it's not uncommon to now see a lot of flying without days off between trips. I flew 15 out of 17 days in a row a couple months ago. 3 5-day trips with a day off between each one. I wish some of the 117 gurus who figured they were fixing stuff could have worked those 17 days with me. Could not have done that under the old rules because of 30 in 7.

Go look at the Aug. Wide Reports for ATL A320, A's.

I saw lots of schedules that were working 15 days in a row!

Ouch!

Yeah, that FAR117 is going to give you a LOT more rest...in a motel room somewhere far away from home!
