Thanks to all for the info on CDG...

From experience what is a good show time for checkin in CDG?

I think the same thing happens in AMS. It's because the processing is done by AF and KLM respectively.

And yes, all stations have been upgrading oversold coach pax to business for several years. That's what makes CDG to a hub dangerous. HKs can show up seemingly from nowhere at the last minute due to a missed connection/reroute. Less can go wrong if your dest is a deadend.

2 hours prior should probably work. They have a special non-rev counter to check in. It can be a little slow, but nothing happens at the gate until just before departure time anyway.

My concerns too. If it was just my wife and I, I wouldn't be so worried, but our son (5) is with us, so that complicates it a little. I've been able in the past at other locations to smuzz the gate to get him into first (vs policy) if no coach is available but not considering it an option here. Settles our goal but DTW is our backup. will see...

Now that we've got this TA behind us and while we work to figure out how to exploit it for our own financial gain, I've been hearing some weird and IMO unbelievable rumors...IMO too farfetched to share.

What are you folks hearing?

No. You can't throw that out there without sharing. Let's hear it.

Dude! You can't just drive by and lob that grenade in here. No matter how asinine the rumor may be, you need to share. That's what this place is for. Spill the beans!

how is nonreving out of Seoul to either DTW or ATL?

Or you could just call your reps and verify, but that wouldn't be your style.

Ftb
Last year I had some retired friends fly thru DTW with no trouble. I think ATL might use KAL.
