Very good news. Thank you to our reps who I am certain are the only reason these SDPs got cut out. I've learned 3 things:
1. When Carl and T agree we have a winner!
2. I'm scared as hell what Scrappy will bring us in C2015.
3. Schiz stamps his approval on whatever is put out. I truly wonder now if he is a pilot.
Should have a SDP carve out just for him to fly since he pushed that BS so hard.

WRT #3, It makes me wonder if this deal is acceptable now without them?
Come on over and read for yourself.

Why do you keep repeating it, by name?
Oh, I get it. Well today's turning out to be a lousy day for those who want the DPA and who want to over throw the Delta MEC.

Stop digging.

Shiz is a pilot here. On a few things we have differing views but on what matters most, Auburn football, we are on the same page. He is a hard worker and done more for pilots then I have BUT i have posted more pictures and gifs then he has. So I am content with that.
What happened today was incredibly significant not just for the contractual gains contained in this Agreement but also for the events that occurred over the last 48 hours.
We just saw an astonishing display of the power of the Delta pilot group when everyone gets unified and puts their mind to a common goal. This happened so fast and the MEC reps and administration were so effective in pivoting and putting that unexpected "surge" to good use that it really sets a tone for the upcoming Contract 2015. I don't usually praise those guys and how we got CDOs in the first place can be dissected later, but the last two days the MEC and the negotiators performed exceedingly well.
Also-
I am loathe to admit this, but I must.
Its pretty obvious that somebody in UPPER management at Delta Air Lines did us a "solid" today. They recognized the revolt that the MEC had on its hands and I think they had to acknowledge and respond to the will of the pilot group. They had no choice if they wanted any agreement at all. That is a demonstration of the strength of our unity.
But -- management easily could have made this whole episode a lot more painful and in fact downright ugly for our Association and all of us. At another airline that is probably exactly what would have happened. Not at Delta.
Credit where credit is due.

OK - Having said that.
Dear management-

Not to rain on our self congratulatory parade, but now I want to think about next year. If this is the kind of stuff we can expect from our negotiating committee, my confidence is not high. I truly hope the MEC pulls those guys aside, in private, and tells them to get their bloody act together or they will be replaced. The fact that this even made it to the MEC is troubling.

2. Scrappy will not be negotiating C2015. Fwiw, he went back in and fixed the SDP issue with the company this afternoon. I'm still not sure how they pulled that rabbit out of the hat, but we owe him our thanks for getting it done.
3. Shiz is a pilot here, and has done (and continues to do) lots of good work for the pilot group. I know him personally and he is far from a rubber stamp. I agree with FTB's assessment.
