If they were on our list it would not be an issue. E190's flown by Delta pilots.

They could have listned to what WE, the union, had to say about it and then OUR reps could have voted on what WE wanted. Again, DALPA does stuff without soliciting what we have to say about the issues. It is also becoming very obvious that the Delta-N guys are attempting to do what the pilots want and the DAL-S guys are doing what the company wants. They did this now because they knew if they waited for the elections in ATL and SLC that they would lose the vote. I'm 99.9% sure that the ATL and SLC reps both voted to kick CPS to the curb. ALL the DAL-S reps need to go and LM needs to become a line pilot again. I can't wait to see the spin on this deal. Idiots.
What is worse I heard that DALPA communications would not let the CPZ coordinator send out a survey to the compass pilots to see what they wanted

Thumbs down

first point - the flow continues regardless of representation.

secondly, if the mec is acting on its own and repeatedly going against the wants of those they represent than its becoming more and more clear that some individuals need to be recalled. or if all else fails it may be time for DPA where we can focus on delta pilot interests only.

i see no good reason to pull the bs that DALPA is pulling

Fact is that the reps have been soliciting input from the rank and file since March. Many have e-mailed many times. Many have talked one on one many times. Not sure if a vote of the pilots would have made a difference.

And if we had kept the status quo DAL management would have needed something from us one way or another to fly 190's there. It would not happen, but instead of the CPS group fighting DALPA for the flying, we both would be on the same team.
We have in effect completed the circuit. When The CPS MEC goes after us for limiting their flying more than any other group, what will the response be.

As Bar said, this issue would have been resolved with stapling them to the list, and getting section one corrections so that the 76 seat market at DCI would not grow. You say the company would not have gone for it, but I think that if they could have flown the 190/195 with our rates under CPS's cost structure they would have gone for it. The result would have been a combined list. Who cares if it was over two certificates represented by the same union.

In the end every pilot I talked to wanted to keep CPS on the list. We could have changed our minds later. What did we get for this? We avoided a possible lawsuit, great, but really who cares, people will sue us either way.

I want one list. Get management to merge the companies and all these problems will go away. Until then the current setup is crazy. How do you get management to merge the companies? That is the key question. One MEC covering two pilot groups and two contracts, that is insane.

Have we even asked?

We could make a case for it and I am sure they would see the benefit since RJET is the other operator of the e-jet and they are not making many happy these days.

You can see the down side to this, can't you?

There are other solutions, and there is a benefit to our group to wait a year or so before making it final. I am sure national would have let us wait.
