Understand your friend feels he's a better qualified candidate, or better applicant. He probably is.
The "other guy" has already been working for Delta as a pilot who flies Delta passengers, just not in the same division as us. The "other guy" is also an ALPA member.
ALPA's priorities should be ... (you fill in the blank). Or in other words, what flying position does my Delta experience entitle me to in the Navy, over a current Navy pilot?

When the time comes, I wish the Academy graduate luck during the interview process and hopefully if they pass, then I would look forward to sharing the flight deck with him/her.

The needs help comments applied to Delta's fleet only with the stupid seating we had. That's been now fixed with bringing the seating up to where it should have been relative to its size.

The Academy graduate is presumably better educated but certainly not better skilled. I do hope he/she doesn't think they are the anointed ones just because they are an Academy graduate.

It all started when Alaska released the "I'm Alaska" video (see full thread for details) where they show a Delta aircraft while saying words to the effect; "they haven't done the work..." etc.
