ALPA's priorities should be ... (you fill in the blank). Or in other words, what flying position does my Delta experience entitle me to in the Navy, over a current Navy pilot?
The Academy graduate is presumably better educated but certainly not better skilled. I do hope he/she doesn't think they are the anointed ones just because they are an Academy graduate.

When the time comes, I wish the Academy graduate luck during the interview process and hopefully if they pass, then I would look forward to sharing the flight deck with him/her.

The worldwide airline market has spoken again and again. The 777 is a mega hit for Boeing and May well turn out to be the single most successful airliner ever built.
Gotta agree with Sailing on this one. Also, the 777X is coming out of the gate with record orders...even if RA isn't interested at this time.

Boeing: What Is New On The Boeing 777X? (BA) | Seeking Alpha

The launch of the Boeing 777X became a record-breaking launch acquiring 259 orders (66) and commitments (193), valued close to $100 billion.

Not to mention the fact that NWA was furloughing at the time.

I disagree. As far as the Air Force goes, the Academy of Military Science only accepts the best and the brightest. I believe airlines should be doing everything they can to hire as many Academy grads as possible!

Although I didn't attend the Academy, I wish I had "known then what I know now."

We're talking about the same "Academy," right???

Just lightening the tone...

It depends on whether or not the C-17 is painted in a DL paint scheme and stocked with DL amenities/safety cards/logos/etc. and the C-17 crew is instructed to not say "operated by the Air Force" on the P.A. but rather, "DL Connection" so as to make it as difficult as possible for the troops to know that they aren't actually riding on the mainline product.

Surely you see the difference.

It all started when Alaska released the "I'm Alaska" video (see full thread for details) where they show a Delta aircraft while saying words to the effect; "they haven't done the work..." etc.
