Looking, might due something radical like the A330. It has the best trip mix now. Just hate the thought of the school. Not to mention I found a summary of all the bizarre ways bus pilots have gotten themselves in trouble. I am afraid I could invent new and even more spectacular methods.

I presume he's referring to the Pinchanickle bankruptcy. It would have happened without C12K, mind you, but having the additional 76-seaters to place at Pinnacle (plus the SSP sweetener) was what allowed DAL to get their regional "cost reset" without the 9E pilots just burning the place down. I argued at the time that the 9E BK was the actual "fleeting opportunity" behind C12k. But it's a stretch for a 9E guy to blame the paycuts on C12k. They were already BK and if C12k hadn't passed, DAL likely would have done a controlled shutdown to retire 50-seaters unilaterally.

Not a knock on Boeing, mind you. *Any* modern plane can get you if you're not completely familiar with the automation, comfortable without it, and ready to turn it off when it does something unexpected.

So they get a higher guarantee to be in the schoolhouse, now they should get more benefits "just because"?
You wanna instruct: the working conditions are what they are, apply or don't. I don't care, they'll find, train, and qualify people willing to do the job. Special treatment for one small fleet of instructors is a non-starter.
I have to commute on standby and pay for my own crashpad because I CHOOSE to live where I want and work where I have bid my position. They're no different in that regard, IMHO.
