Not saying we should use any capital, but we better find away to eliminate the language that allows outsourcing.

Who knows, maybe someone will invent a "Mr. Fusion" for jet engines. Maybe cheap foreign pilots will become available to fly them. Maybe Sleepy Ed or another high-functioning sociopath will take over for RA and try to re-invent the outsourcing wheel.

Even if the company wants to bring DCI back to mainline, we've got to make sure they can't outsource it in the future. Put the genie back in the bottle!

Which category? I tried a few and no dice. Seems like ours is usually one of the last to get loaded

Why would we? The company needs that feed. If the companies that are now providing it implode due to lack of crew to man them, do you think that a new entrant into the field that would pay and provide even less benefits than either Endeavour or Compass would somehow be able to hire them? So what does that leave? The company would have to figure out a way to provide that feed itself. Checkmate.

Not one thin dime.

And what value is that scope if the company goes under?

God help me, but you actually said something that I agree with.

How could we go under? We're making $2 billion+ a year.

You might want to review your corporate structure...

Tell me again who owned Comair?

Not saying that it is something about to happen right now.... but if this pilot shortage thing is real, management is going to have to increase costs in order to attract quality applicants. That will severely eat into that "profit?". And I highly doubt your profit line is $2 billion. (even if your revenue is $2 billion, your bottom line is no where near that) And even if it were, DAL would probably want to sever the pay for departure contracts, and keep THAT money in house to pay down more debt.
