Look dude, I'll just come out and say it: the East/West thing at airways is preposterous, childish and they make everyone it this industry look bad. Period.

A quick youtube search of the MEC meetings regarding integration point to this fact, oh but there is so much more.

If this is a "management did this to us thing", then why do they still not share jumpseats? have their own equipment and training departments? why will they not talk in shared airport vans? or simply yell at one another if they do?

It speaks to a complete lack of professional decorum and respect. Period. There isn't any dithering here. It was up to the respective groups to deal with one another with at least a passing nod to basic professionalism. When people in the industry talk about the Airways situation with heads shaking back and forth in disbelief and a smidgen of disgust, I assure you it isn't management they are blaming for intractability.

Yup, just like red book/green book. Just like Delta/Pan Am.

It's all happened before, now it's just a matter of degree. It is a more extreme world today with the flow of information being at the speed of light. A smart group of people would realize that it is human nature, and remove cause.

Dude.

At least let me sign off the computer into banishment.

WB question, the company has said there is a possibility of a "bridge" order before the next batch of NEW aircraft arrive. When does the first batch of Emirates 777-300's come off lease?

Look man, if you want to excuse poor and unprofessional behavior any argument you are going to construct to support those ends will be sufficient. But most of us in the industry today, right now, not 20 or 30 or more years ago don't want to put up with that crap. Its a relic of a bygone era.

If we want to be paid as top flight professionals industry-wide that we believe we are, we probably need to start demanding other professionals in our field act as such.

9E has scope on a lot of those planes through the bridge agreement signed by ALPA National, and DAL management.

Those guys are hero's. Seeing stuff like that really makes a lot of what we complain about in life seem small.

Re: 76+ aircraft

We used to own that flying - we gave it up through strong arm tactics.

We want it back - and eventually we will get it.

I thought it was a bad tradeoff that kept DCI viable for longer than it would be with those 50-seaters, but I didn't have a vote, so what I thought didn't really matter for much. Some DAL pilots agreed with me. About twice as many disagreed. Whatever, water under the bridge. Can we just agree that with DCI on life support again, we don't want to resuscitate in C2015?
Are you a new hire, or have you been here for years? If you are a new hire, why are you lecturing us?
Successful new hires generally try to keep their heads down during probation.
