I predict a split order for 20ish 777-300ERs to replace 747 and 30 787-9 or 350-800s. The 350 will have been flying almost 5 years by the time we start getting them which I guess is long enough for RA to have some data. Course if they re-engine the 330, that might take the cake if it is significantly cheaper than a 350, which is why I'm sure Airbus doesn't really want to do that.
I'm not buying that for a second. I believe those airframes will be used to upgauge current routes as the 320's, 319's and 717's take over the 50 and 70 seat RJ markets, and expand others (LAX, SEA). Like trickle down only starting in the middle. The next round of orders will fill up the top end of the capacity needs going forward. The question you, and all the rest of us have, is what will that lift consist of? I think if you look at the needs now and going forward, that spells 777-300ER's, 787-900's or 350-900's. If Airbus builds the 330 NEO, which we'll know by July, then maybe we'll see some of them too. I don't think that airplane will fulfill all of our needs though.

20 A330

The chairman's letter was a strongly worded, stern lecture.
Unfortunately, his reprimand was directed at his own constituents (the Delta pilot group), and towards the company.
And it did nothing to acknowledge or correct the reasons we have a divided pilot group in the first place. Ordering those disaffected folks to get back on board without doing anything to address or validate their concerns indicates to me he is completely out of touch (despite all the "listening" he has done).
Oh...and what about those 117 negotiations?

18 . . 777-300
10 . . 330 NEO
22 . . 787-900
18 . . 787-800 DAL current delivery slots moved up to 2017-18
I don't think Airbus is going to go forward with the 330NEO.
So...
12 777-300ER's
30 787-900's.
Options on more 787's...

Almost as out of touch as those who actively try to replace their union, then complain that it's not doing more.
