I think it's a great idea! I will have 'fun' with it too. I'm going to start by telling him that since he's going over a Million Miles, HE gets to FLY the leg!

"Step right up, here you go Mr. Million Miles, sit in MY seat! Now...see... you just push these things to the wall, then you just pull back at the end of the runway, and that guy on your right will explain everything else! What seat did you have? Why? Because I'll be sitting back there, so don't fk up the landing!"

Do you get to hug his "million mile" trophy wife too?

In a week the DCI guys will get a memo telling us to do it also... One seamless Delta experience.

Can I wait until after I've wolfed down a dozen wings from Popeyes? Sometimes that's my only chance to eat during a 5-leg day.

Or maybe shake hands while I'm pushing my way upstream from using the aft lav.

My sentiments exactly Timbo! I'm very cordial, and, after they scowl, I make a crack about them sitting up front so I can sit in back. I appreciate their patronage greatly. I also try to delicately intimate that we're working hard for them. Show them the cockpit, answer any questions, and invite them to enjoy what is an increasingly customer friendly experience in the back. I actually relish that aspect of the job. I don't care if it comes from a bulletin or not. I also drag bags downstairs and push wheelchairs. If they're total dbags, I move on.

The two days off prior to training applies only to qualification training, and you ask for it when you enter your AE/VD/MD bid. The days will not be forced on your line if you do not want them.

Thx.
I read the contract and search it pretty often. But I constantly find myself asking...
How does that alan shore know so much?

Tis true. When bidding to go to the 717 I asked for the two days off. When I went to bid for my line the month prior to training I decided to do a reserve line and just bid all of my favorite days off. I thought that PBS would award those days automatically.

It does not. I ended up on RES up to the day I started class, no 48 hours off. Turns out I was told you still have to bid those days off and if you don't get them off then that provision kicks in I guess manually? I didn't follow up, didn't care.

I'm starting to think he wrote it.

I kind of think of him as using one of those intelligent PBS like voices to calmly inform us of why he wrote it the way he wrote it, and it all makes sense...

My understanding is we are going to some sort of quick matrix like download. You'll walk into the CPO, get your download, be good to go on bulletins... charts... manuals... revisions... hell, how about a whole new plane in a few seconds? Thanks to our new IT department, dun. don. dawn. dam. dan. your new name is dan and your mission is to...

seems legit.
