It isn't that they will have a US base. What they will do is enable pilots to begin and end their trips in the US while being based in Dubai. Its called split rotation or reverse rotation.

For the layman, it looks and feels like US basing.

Doesn't Cathay Pacific have an Atlanta base?

I saw a random name pop up on linkedin, the guy was a 2006 hire on the 748 for Cathay and it said based in ATL.

I read somewhere a pilot base for Cathay freight in ATL.

Default Delta distance learning and Windows 8

I'm in need of a new laptop, primarily for upcoming training on a new aircraft. Does anybody know if the USB Distance Learning that Delta provides works with Windows 8? I hate to buy a new laptop and have it not work.

Hmmm, be nice and show some appreciation the highest revenue generating customers.... That's crap, screw those guys... They can go and take their money somewhere else.
