I don't think the ME carriers will ever have a US base. Anyone based here would then have the right to unionize which they don't in the ME, and that threat will keep the bases away.
It is nuts when you look at Emirates fleet.

I'm curious. Per the DALNET home page, Effective Tuesday, nearly all Delta frontline employees worldwide received an increase in base pay of up to 3 percent and merit employees participated in a 3 percent merit pool.
Did that trigger our review of 757 rates but since we make more than AA/USAir and UCAL it was a moot point?
Per section 3 B.4?

We haven't done anything yet. 50 is a number. Just like saying we want to start hiring in 2012 (that's for you ftb)... Until it is in writing, accompanied with a presser, and a few bids, it is just talk, and not impressive imho. The word "replacement" inserted anywhere in that statement ruined the whole thing.

They don't worry about flying a bunch of half empty widebody jets around the world. Last week on the way to Dubai we heard one of their A380's checking in with ATC at FL400 just after exiting the Nat tracks over Ireland.
You gotta be pretty light to be that high, that far out. (about 7 hours out of DXB)
I'd like to know what their system average load factor is, and what their "Break Even" load factor is, or if they even have one.

Keep them coming. I am sure you guys can find more negative things to say about Delta ordering aircraft. You're not quite up to the usual level of doom and gloom but close!
