Taking a look at the latest AE and I have a question for a staffing genius. How do we have a 172 FO openings and only 35 Capt openings? Shouldn't they balance?

I do understand that some of them are carry over from previous AEs but a 5 to 1 ratio seems a bit high.

Funny that you would post those together because I think the top plane will be making a trip shortly to where the bottom plane landed.

So we can fly to 6 continents and have 10 fleet types (plus more sub types) but 2 tablets that are essentially mostly just PDF file readers is enough to wrench up the system?

Maybe we need to invest some money into IT instead of share buybacks at peak prices.

Not a staffing genius, but I would think that it has to do with letting current pilots bid on positions before new hires. They probably will not fill all the 172 FO slots and those leftover will be assigned to newbies. In addition international aircraft usually carry more FO's than Capt. as there are 2 FO's and 1 Capt. on the 3 man crossings.

Were you on call or off?

Either way though, you make that determination.

As a reserve when are we considered full?

Reserve guarantee is 75:30 (77:30 Avl) in my category and shows 92:30 as Max reserve for the month. However, I had a week of vacation, two 5 day trips, and a 2 day. My credit is 56:42.

Thanks for any responses.
