Just an observation that the new Captains complain about getting screwed in the merger, while they bid up to 73A.
Is that a slam, or just an observation? They moved up, the other side moved down. That was the intent of the award and capacity reductions forced the matter.
I pulled the post because I really like a couple of the new Captains and it is not TO TD material. They just haven't realized what the other side's perspective was. In my group the merger was a 5 year set back. Then again Delta might have gone bankrupt without the merger, who knows? I don't.

You are on the 737-800 in Atlanta, right?

You know, I've been thinking we were about due for a good old-fashion NvS ball-kicking contest.
I'd like to go first, then concede.

Maybe he could also draw up a diagram explaining how to put the gear up and down.
I found the entire thing pretentious and a bit insulting.
I feel sorry for junior F/O's who can't avoid spending four days of their lives flying with *******s like this.

Yes, one was a 74-200B then ERB. He's one of the best sticks I've ever flown with. Great guy.
I never looked at it - was told by the CLCA on the previous trip to tell him to put it away and follow DL procedures. It's not necessary to reinvent the wheel - there's a FCTM written by normal people for a reason. How hard is it to turn a knob to the right to make it hot, and to the left to make it cool? You really think it's necessary to type up some handout for something so trivial?

But I bet nobody is having a problem with the packs on flights he's not on, amirite?
Any Windows 8 experts able to help with a question? My MacBook finally 'let go of the rope'. In order to continue uninterrupted with my military PME, I purchased a Dell (Windows 8) laptop to get me through until the next Apple announcement.
Anyway, when I select the "email app" tile, it brings me to my gmail/yahoo accounts, but hasn't allowed my contacts to be synced to the tile (accessed) page. When I access my email via the desktop internet explorer icon, I have full functionality of each email, but again, would like to access the same functionality via the tile/app, on the windows 8 screen.
Thanks for any advice,
GJ

I know this isn't helpful BUT my experience was to stay as far away from the Metro/Modern/New UI as possible on non-touch devices like laptops and desktops. Use a good e-mail client or access via the webmail to get what you need. That's been my experience (about 6 months worth) with Windows 8 so far - haven't tried a touch enabled yet. Also, getting any email through the Metro App for other than your Microsoft account (.live,.outlook, .msn, .hotmail) seems difficult unless you want to go into the web interfaces and add a bunch of aliases for your other e-mail accounts and not even sure that will work. Your best source for Win 8 info is winsupersite.com - Paul Thurrotte is all in on Windows 8 and has lots of tips to adjust to it. Good Luck
