As one who lays over a lot in base, at LAX, that place is completely unacceptable. There are too many decent, fairly reasonable, options at LAX to have to resort to that crap hole. If the Sheraton Gateway doesn't want us, I recommend the committee go after Hilton, Westin, the Renaissance, Marriott or the Four Points. All very nice. I get them for around $75. Seems to me that Delta could work a similar or better price.

Sorry guys. Work it hard. I know that area and it sucks.

Exactly, that area was crap 30 years ago, I'm sure it hasn't got better.

Went for a quick run a while back there, and after about 2 blocks, the "spider sense" started tingling. Maybe it was the 2nd group of guys looking at me with the "look at this idiot" look. Return couple blocks were definitely faster than trip "outbound".

The Atlanta 737 A's used to be the best anywhere. Atlanta's been getting so senior post merger that many of the best are gone to the MD88, or other bases. Now I look like this ....
