I think it says in crew staffing newsletter will be flown by ATL and DTW crews. No west coast 717 base. They will also be doing DTW-AUS, so just keep going to LAX up the coast and back and you have your rotation. Sounds like a nice trip.

Jim was a great guy, he will be missed. Tailwinds always.

Cheers

Very sad to hear of Jim's passing. He was a fantastic example of a leader and an all around great guy.

Not sure of the glioblastoma diagnosis, but I understand that it was some type of brain tumor.

And yes, on the glioblastoma rate with Delta pilots, it appears to be higher than average.

Condolences to his friends and family. From all mentions he was a great man.

In 2010, Jim pinned the wings on his then newly hired son, MG.

Just read the Wiki on glioblastoma. The article notes a link between the disease and radiation. The survival rate is pretty poor.

Default I need Help from Computer Nerd!

Hi Guys, here is the deal, I am trying to do my aircraft systems distance learning via company issued USB drive. The only computer that I have is a MAC running OS X. The company only supports Windows and I don't really want to buy another laptop to use just to complete this distance learning.

Plan 1 is to load Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 on my Mac via boot camp.

Plan 2 is to buy a cheap refurbished Windows laptop.

What do the nerds think and why?

Thanks

If you do get a cheap windows machine (what I keep around for just this reason and to reliably run ezbid) remember that windows XP will be unsupported by this April and Vista is either unsupported or soon to be as well.
