While we are throwing the speculative mud at the wall, I was wondering what single point failure could take out ACARS and the radios ... the BPCU.
All modern jets have them, have to. Their failure has rendered a 747, a 787 and other types completely unpowered. My concerns aren't for the 777, but the 787 where truly immense levels of electrical power go through a computer controlled box of mechanical relays.
A dark jet, no nav capability, turn towards land ... been there myself.

Buddy Pass question:
My buddy wants to fly out of ATL into Brussels, tour for a week, then fly back to ATL from Zurich.
I think I'll need to burn two separate passes since he's not a 'round trip' to BRU, is that correct, or will it let you do that on one pass?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

I had a friend do just that a few years ago - flew into Brussels and back from AMS. I'm almost positive he just used one buddy pass
Having tried it, I know that open jaw trips are not allowed for the One Great Team passes, but I don't know about a single buddy pass.

Thanks for the buddy pass info, I'll give it a shot on travel net and see what happens.
If any of you are laying over in BRU or ZRH in mid April, he might be able to hook you up on a catamaran. He's going over there to do some racing clinics for the locals with these guys:

4 pinochios!!!
Just got done reading the latest True Headings.
Predictably DPA pulled another ready, fire aim on the whole Lee Moak "makes > $1M a year" lie they put out last week.
Anybody still hitching their cart to that horse? TheManager, anything to add? Care to send TC a message that we're over this BS and ready to move forward together towards C2015?
Btw, for those that didn't read the True headings, the crux was there was a mandatory IRS rule applied to an annuity that resulted in a large imputed income amount being listed on the form that DPA was referencing. Lee didn't see an extra penny, much less the 48% pay bump they claim.
So much for them putting in "hours of research on your behalf." <------Direct quote from the opening paragraph of the DPA Crew Van News/Lies...
