Bar, I'm sure you probably were going to say...when does the Delta pilot get "recalled"? Is it after the hundreds of Delta furlough bypass pilots? If those pilots were not on bypass...maybe some current pilots would be furloughed at this time. We are now all in it together.

Just one comment on 100~ seat aircraft. Watch very carefully how the words are put together. They are "looking" and evaluating aircraft. I have heard a few things, but they have a few more steps to go to commit.

How many years does it take DAL to "look and evaluate" 100 seaters???

First, it appears your really don't get it. You say that "everyone understands that the union revolves around the pilots." Really? Was there not an LEC resolution asking for a scope report card passed by the pilots of the union?

What did the leadership do with that resolution? It was a simple easy request that sprang from the blow back that the MEC and Moak experienced after mishandling the rj grievance. How do you just wake up one day and figure out that there are 22 or so too many rj's in the connection fleet? And the communication on this issue. Unbelieveable. I'd give it an F. We would not even be discussing report cards if the MEC had not missed this fact 22 times!

Finally, you can put down all the newly nominated reps all you want as "web board chest pounders." Fact is, they have been nominated as a direct result of the rj/scope blowback created by the MEC. Add to this the ineffective communication that is more often than not a condenscending one way conversation and voila, you have a slate of people that want to vote for change.

Now, you have many people in the union who want to see this change and they are ready to vote to make this change happen. This is going to be interesting. Got to go. Wife and I have a date night with one of our daughters. Priorities.

And that scope resolution was passed by how many pilots? In Atlanta there are probably around 3800 pilots, how many voted for your scope resolution? Does it represent the majority of the pilots or just those that called each other and gave proxies and posted on webboards to show up and vote on their one favorite issue? If you have a resolution that is voted on by 1800 or 1900 pilots then you have a better idea of the will of the council.

Thanks for the softball, right down the middle, by the way.

As for the rj grievance, it has been covered many times, if you choose not to understand the situation then there is nothing more to be said. No one "discovered" they had too many rj's, they took mainline airplanes out of service and that altered the 1 to 3 ratio. If you can't understand how that works, then I won't waste my time.

Heyas,

Council 20 passed another resolution regarding locking down scope yesterday.

Listening to LM speak is like driving through down a road with thick, patchy fog. Certain parts of the road are crystal clear, such as JVillie...but as soon as you enter the town of "domestic scope", everything turns grey, indistinct and you have no idea where the road goes. Any student of rhetoric can immediately pick up on the change in style when he talks about it.

I got the impression that another merger would be welcome by this administration. It seemed very important that we get to a 1/3 market share.

LM still doesn't understand what makes fNWA guys tick, but I will say that it looks like he's trying to learn. Maybe he needs to get Rosetta Stone: NWAese from the vending machine in ATL. It's right next door to the Scope Balls dispenser.

Nu,

Was this a resolution regarding recapturing ALL DAL Flying? i.e. All DAL flying will be done by pilots on the DAL seniority list?

IMO, the company has a fairly good sense that there is no way that the 100 seater will not go to mainline. They may try for a few more 76 seat jets, which will be meet with another outcry.

Fact is that people watch this thread, and realize that there is a vocal section of this group, that will educate people on scope. That is very different than the past. In effect, recent moves for a global footprint have made section 1 an issue from number 1 to number 12200.

As for the 100 seater. There area lot of factors that go in to it. I am sure we are looking at the 195 again as some of the lease options have changed, which will change the ROI, the C-Series is also a good jet and shows a lot of potential.

FWIW, I was on one of the new RJET MEH 190's. That is a big jet. It is not a DCI jet, and if I have any control over it, it will be flown by Delta pilots if Delta wants to fly it. Fact is that it is a joint type with the other E-Series jets, which will further our need to reevaluate our official stance on those jets.

I'm certain you mis-typed this as you really meant the company knows that there is NO WAY the 100 seater will go to REGIONALS.

It will MOST CERTAINLY go to MAINLINE, as any attempt to negotiate otherwise will be a show stopper. JMO

Yep you are correct. I could not get to it quick enough. The little monster hit submit.

They know it will go to mainline, at least that is what they are telling me.
