If it hasn't changed from when I enjoyed the 'Iraq War Vacation' then he's right. You get recalled to what is available. You then can bid on an AE immediately with no freeze to hold you on he aircraft you returned on.

I'll find it, I know it happened for an absolute fact. I was watching the category closely and was even denied an LAX bid right after LAX 73N's were awarded to returning pilots.

I've had a tough time finding the awards, but I'll dig it up. I know others on here saw it happen as well, as returning awards. Not AE's.

As I said, gentlemen, the Company has the option of putting him into a new hire position, i.e., an unfilled vacancy, or allowing him to go to a category of his choosing that he is senior enough to hold.

Read all about it in 21 C. of the PWA.

And the furlough recall guys in LAX were relatively senior. I think that 5 guys accepted recall but then 1 guy resigned after accepting. The 4 that came back were all around 30-40 out of about 75 Pilots.

You are correct about the 7 day review, however any and everything in the policy manual can be waived by the MEC.

The negotiating committee could still come up with an agreement over the weekend or even early next week.

You think the reps are going to vote to extend the MEC meeting over the weekend into the following week just to comply with said policy? Or do you think they might vote to waive the 7 day review period?

Just sayin.

It's allowed per the contract.

Exactly what I was thinking. The MEC wouldn't let a silly thing like the policy manual get in its way.

To each his own.
The F/O says it, not the taxiing Capt and it takes all of 20 seconds, hardly a significant distraction. I appreciate the civil response, mine might have been a little over the top.

The big question I have is when are we going to see some premium and super premium widebody slots open up?
There are not many airplanes from the ER category coming online soon. They'll need me back in the 73N after the summer rush with all the -900's coming. I would be happy to stay in the ER if that doesn't happen, but that's not the company line. The movement is going in a good direction, but ditching some of the 757's is making it a bit of back and forth for a few of us who were at the bottom of the ER lists. I am OK either way until I can get into Seattle.
