Sorry to change the subject, but I just got an Alpa comm email and reading the headline on my IPhone, I read "JetBlue Election Update, all about the Money...".

Someone needs to proof read these headlines better, lest someone not like myself, might accuse ALPA of chasing revenues at the expense of representing its current dues paying membership.

Opening the email reveals that it is two different headers but out of context I laughed at the thought crossing my mind initially.

Peace

Actually, the opposite is true, the tail clearance for the 900 is a bit tighter in relation to tail-strike clearance ...nonetheless, it is difficult to believe that 100% of UAL -900s have suffered a tail-strike.

Tail striking a 100 airplanes would be mind boggling hard imho. BTW, looking through avhearld I noticed we have a few of our own and 767s and 744s around the globe like to drag their tails.

But this was the only UCAL 739 strike listed going back to 09, maybe they had more when the jets were new in the early 2000s...

Incident: United B739 at Chicago on Mar 1st 2013, tail strike on landing

So are you saying the same Company that delayed hiring just to squeeze an extra million out of 2103 Q1 profit is going to waste hundreds of thousands (maybe a million?) just to displace?

That math doesn't work.
Most of the conversions on the last bid are April thru July for the ER. This bid has all conversions by Aug 31 bid period.

Isn't that what Alaska said to DAL over some MX Contract recently?

Baja.

Ironic that something dealing with the MD-88 would go into a holding pattern and then stall.

So what did we decide?

“FLIGHT ATTENDANTS, PLEASE PREPARE THE CABIN FOR DEPARTURE.”

can be...

“FLIGHT ATTENDANTS WE'RE NUMBER THREE FOR TAKEOFF, PLEASE PREPARE THE CABIN FOR DEPARTURE.”

what about...

"“FLIGHT ATTENDANTS, “FLIGHT ATTENDANTS WE'RE NUMBER THREE FOR TAKEOFF, EXPECT AN ON TIME ARRIVAL, PLEASE PREPARE THE CABIN FOR DEPARTURE.”PREPARE THE CABIN FOR DEPARTURE.”

That on time arrival was something I did for a while because FAs would call and ask if we're going to be on time. I felt like heading it off at the pass, so to me I'm talking to the FAs and giving them information.

But maybe not.

Now the FAA guys I've dealt with, I do not honestly think they'd care about a small deviation from the standard. I think a 1 minute well rehearsed listen-to-myself diatribe while taxing could be ranked right up there with not putting your O2 mask on though.

Delta announced in an SEC filing that the 787 were put off until 2020. You got any announcement from Delta that the actual increase in the mainline fleet of 26 aircraft in 2013 they just posted didn't occur, or any announcement from Delta that their fleet plan growth in this SEC filing http://deltaairlines.q4cdn.com/b55fbca1-55ca-4323-bbee-ce1eb9992a05.pdf is not on track? Maybe all those 717s, 737, A321s and A330s aren't really coming.

People, this is not hard.

"Good ____ ladies and gentlemen, and welcome aboard Delta Air Lines Flight ___ to beautiful _____. We're currently _____ in line for takeoff; so flight attendants, please prepare the cabin for departure, and thank you for flying with us here at Delta Air Lines."

I predict we will see a TA announced next week. MEC meeting Mar 3-6. Negotiating Comm. elections. Sounds like the perfect time to announce a deal before new negotiators are elected. I have no evidence for this, just a gut feeling.
