We should close on Sundays.
Speaking as a business owner, there is nothing about running a business that is an affront to "Christian Values." The Bible does not speak directly to many business issues, but I do think outsourcing violates both the spirit and intent of Jesus' teachings in the New Testament.
Basically it boils down to what Paul wrote to Roman readers in Galatians, "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." "
Business leaders might try to rationalize that either workers are not "neighbors" or that like an over worked trauma Doc, they have to let some die to save others. Jesus' story of the "Good Samaratan" corrects these justifications by illustrating some basic facts:
People who run businesses have choices, just as all of us do. I can not abide the idea that harming folks' careers with corporate shell games is in any way demonstrative of "loving your neighbor." It is not my job to judge. But, I would not make the decisions Delta's management have with regard to outsourcing.
The "Delta Culture" that management would so like to inspire us with does reflect back on "Christian Values." Isn't "we've got your back" a comitment to travellers that we will be the Good Samaritan? Wouldn't it be nice (and profitable) if every Delta employee loved our customers? But, these well meaning values are diluted by our Delta corporate reality which excludes some of our closest neighbors.

- One is need
- One has the ability to help
- They are close to one another, enough to be aware

It's funny, people get wrapped around the axle about "sell all you own and give it to the poor" and think that applies to everyone who is wealthy instead of realizing it was meant for that guy- although there is a lot to learn from it. There was so much said to those who had that didn't have anything to do with selling everything.

Brother FIIG...I'm sure you'll find a way to blame Bush or Fox News!
edit: I just googled it too. Wow.

Children play and dinosaurs roam near Eden’s Rivers. The serpent coils cunningly in the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Majestic murals, great masterpieces brimming with pulsating colors and details, provide a backdrop for many of the settings.
It came into being through a joint venture between the Bush family and Fox news. It was partially funded by selling weapons to Iraq just before we invaded them and by a secret CIA slush fund built up by selling crack in the inner city. That's the short version.
