It's always interesting when RA or Sleepy Ed speaks at a prayer breakfast, or talks about his faith.

These guys want to pay their employees as little as possible, with zero regard for what that means to workers' families, etc. Layoffs, outsourcing--no problem. They're always focused on the bottom line. People are nothing more than a means to make money for the shareholders and for themselves.

I don't know them well enough to call them hypocrites, and I wouldn't presume to judge them in that regard. I'm sure they donate lots of money.

Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but their jobs really don't strike me as terribly compatible with Christian values.

PD,
Despite Ed's affront to all of us, he's just one guy doing whatever... I'm not defending him, just saying...

I don't think we live in a country that is terribly compatible with Christian values anymore and I think that is THE problem.

Dude, you are out there. They pay competitive wages, no guns held to the heads of any DL employees that I've seen. They are doing a good job by any of the measurable data points. They can do better but I'm glad they're on our team.

The world must be coming to an end, because I generally agree with you. The problem is, they are employed by the shareholders, and in that case they have done an excellent job. We are nothing more than cost units.

This assumes that the trip flies on X-days in March. Otherwise, you're still flying for free in March with no payback days.

Agreed. I see little in His teachings that is compatible with capitalism.

Thanks to all who answered what CPR means. In short, it means enjoy a PD because you didn't come to work as scheduled. Blah blah. But, Mr Chief Pilot Man was very calm, rational and polite when he told me.

Actually, the chances of missing a trip are so much higher than doing that ^^^ because that ^^^ requires $$ in the first place.
