The only time we had to go to Bradley terminal was when we got in real late from Mexico due to a mechanical. I think our customs shut down at 10pm.
It has limited hrs. It is open for our GDL flight that arrives mid day, but it is not open for others.

Talk about efficiency! The movie "Gone in 60 seconds" comes to mind.

I agree fun to watch, especially if you are on one of the winning teams.
The guys on the 4th floor are working overtime creating a virtual airline. How long before we no longer fly DL metal to Athens? The AS codeshare makes sure we'll never have to fly those pesky intra-West routes just like NW. JAL? Don't think I want to see that door opened.

I read the Olympic code share to be them coding on our ATH flight and points west out of JFK. I did not read it as us coding with them. I will reread is though.

And it is not the guys on the fourth floor (flt ops) doing this. It is a totally different department and not even under the same guys.

Kamsman,

From the "Flight Operations" page on the Delta Net select the "Pilot Resources and Scheduling" link about half way down the left side. The award will be the first or second link on the upper right hand side of the that page. Not a good idea to post that on this forum.

American, BA, Qantas eye joint offer to JAL-sources

American, BA, Qantas eye joint offer to JAL-sources - Forbes.com

Looks like the Oneworld Alliance is backing up AMR for this JAL deal.
This deal seems to have gotten alot of peoples' attention.
I guess the good news is were are positioning ourselves strategically, however the bad news is we are ****ing alot of people off. I know business is business, but I don't sitting under the hive after someone just stirred up the nest.

If these guys are all getting together to beat DAL for JAL, have you ever wondered how much they are going to be paying for it? What do you think that will do to the balance sheets of the Oneworld partners? Do you think this might have been the plan all along?

Just some thoughts.....

I hope you're right but looking down the road I basically see us supporting competitors with all these agreements and setting the stage to remove more flying from our group if we don't tow the line. The west coast is history, probably never to return.

There's a fine line between filling a hole in our network with a competitor and setting the stage for our company to never do any of that flying. Look at fNW. Ground breaking early agreement forged with KLM and relatively little presence in Europe for NW. Early codeshare with AS and no west coast flying for NW. Plenty of shrinkage of the pilot group over time however.

It may have been the plan all along, but even if this ordeal weakens AMR's position by forcing it to invest more than they wanted to keep JAL part of Oneworld, I think we are still banking on the belief that AMR will not be able to tap into enough capital so as too avoid giving up market share/gates in JFK or elsewhere in there system. You know what they say about assuming.

I'm sure there is a big picture here somewhere, but additional backing by other Oneworld Carriers may be the extra boost to thwart off having to give up anything. In the end of the day it's a numbers game, and it currently looks like DAL and AMR are playing chicken with one another. The fact that the rest of the Oneworld Alliance Partners are jumping in with support this quickly proves that losing JAL will be a brutal blow to Oneworld.

Personally my apprehensions are with currently being the biggest carrier in the world and being able to hold that title viably.
