Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
South guys or anyone else who may know,
I have an AE question. Let's say I bid to change bases, but stay on the same airplane. (DTW DC-9 to MSP DC-9). When should I expect to start flying out of the new base? Right away? Or, sometime during the conversion process (??? I think that's what it's called. ???).

It depends. Is it an AE or a VD or an MD?
They will convert VD's prior to MD's.
For example the pilots that VDed in this last bid are converting in Nov-Jan. (most of them) MD's are right after them.
The more senior you are of those who are awarded, the sooner you will go to training on an AE or a VD but later if it is a MD.
When I AE I generally go about three months in to the window.

What ACL said.
AE's go first - in seniority order. Then it's VD's in seniority order. Then it's MD's in reverse seniority order. Since you do not require training, if you are awarded an AE bid, then I would expect to be in the new base pretty quickly.

New K,
As you know, all conversions are done in seniority order for AE and VD. Reverse seniority order for MD's. If you are one of the senior bidders for either AE or VD you will probably be converted in the first month, maybe second especially if you are already trained in the aircraft and it's just a base change.
As ACL said, AE's and VD's will most definately be converted prior to any MD's. Good Luck! If you haven't already, check your PM's.

I think there is a very good chance that we will lose out. Maybe we'll actually fly some of our own routes and not code share!
