From what I have heard from a higher up at ALPA is 9 hours of hard fly but a shorter duty day. That is all and well for daytime domestic but he thinks it will carry over to the Europe augmented flying also. Not good. We lose the augment to Europe on dang near every flight. Besides the safety aspect of flying all night and not gettine a break, we lose higher paying wide body jobs to make the regionals safer. Way to go ALPA.

Denny,
Ahhhh, Ferd is just a tad bit senior to me and that one month advantage adds up. So, if you are giving him AE bidding gouge, I respectfully request some gouge as well (with a "round of drinks when we meet" card in an extended hand.)

NewK,
I'll send you a PM too!!

Ferd, NewK, and anyone else who cares to read,
The best advice I ever got about AE/MD bidding was in my first week after I got hired. "Bid what you want, want what you bid!"

The phase 3 training took as long as advertised for the DAL N pilots. Too much rah, rah crap in that one. Hope this is different, if it's gonna take up that much time at least I'd like to learn something from it.

This came from the Alpa EVP level. Maybe he is misinformed. I hope y'all are correct. Just passing along what I was told.
I think you should wait until the full report comes out, before passing judgment. I am pretty sure that they did not touch the augmentation rules. This is a complicated subject it is best to wait to read the whole thing rather than rely on snippets of data from people who have only snippets of data. Or you could just take your shots based on rumor. I know a guy who did a lot of the work for the committee, I talked with him for over an hour, and I still didn't get the whole story. It is quite detailed, but I think most pilots will see the improvements in the new rules. They are based on science and not economics.
