ER airframes will be converted to transcon domestic for a total of only 7 domestic 767's.
The plan for the 757's has not changed. There will be a total of 70 airframes parked by 2017. The rest will get heavy checks and stick around. All 757-300's will stay. The 757's are going to be reconfigured for 199 seats except the transcon airframes. Not sure exactly how you get 199 seats in the aircraft with a first class. We had 199 at Song in all one class. There is one possible change in the works. We are working on a long term sports charter contract. If that comes through then 10 additional 757's will get heavy checks with 60 being parked.
Near term retirements have slowed but the number of parked airframes 3 years out has not changed unless that sports contract comes through.
All of the above subject to change. 25 757's have been parked so far.

I got a more recent update. Its not good news however. The 767 fleet will see the retirement of all the small motor aircraft as they come up on heavy checks. That is 9 airframes if I recall. The 1400 series aircraft which is 4 airframes will remain. 3

Thanks for the update. Would've preferred more staying.

Is there anything in the contract to stop them from just assigning most open time 2 days out now. If they were to make a legitimate attempt at helping our QOL like this it would make some strides in the good will department.
Oh and Happy New Years and enjoy the 3% raise you just got

I think we would win the grievance especially bringing WSC into the discussion. Nothing is for sure however and if we lost then the companies plan from Dec becomes the rule. Hopefully we reach a agreement and don't have to roll the dice.

Is this our (Pilots) problem - No it is the companies problem, but if anyone thinks we (DALPA) will win a grievance when a pilot is given 19 hours notice for long call and waits until 3 hours prior to acknowledge they are crazy. Before 117 we had a 9 hour window which was applied via the "NLT 3 hours to report" verbiage.
It is quite reasonable to replace the "NLT 3 hours until report" verbiage with "within 9 hours."

We are under no obligation whatsoever to schedule check or acknlwledge while on a day off. Never were. And there simply is no such thing as a 2 hour long call leash. The company refusing to negotiate to solve this because they're stuck in their fantasy world of pretend 117 staffing neutral models in no way creates a mandate to unilaterally rewrite our contract and impose what would be a pretty huge concession (2 hour LC leash). Hopefully this is fixed soon. But until then there is a contract fully in place.

7yr 7ER FO for 6 mos & 73n FO 6mos. Gross earnings, 401k, shared reward, profit sharing & perdium: $184,806.85
Got a trip on the schedule for tomorrow afternoon. They put it on at about 8AM local which is a lot earlier than they usually cover open trips. So I had 30 hours to ack the trip.
In my 7 years at Delta I have always acknowledged trips that were put on my schedule the day prior. So in this case I decided to do what I have always done and acknowledge the trip. Didn't want to be the first to give the 117 rule a whirl. So far in my category I have not seen any trips that were assigned via the LC process come back into the pot. So nobody has tested it yet here, but they had all those trips assigned close to 24 hours prior to report.
Now, if they call me at 1AM for a trip the next day at 2PM, I'm not going to acknowledge that one until I wake up because that is what I have always done.
