Why, the FA's will have Mercedes limousines with liveried chauffeurs who will drop off them and their cats directly at their lounge. There will be a fleet of said limo's lined up at each arrival gate to shuttle them directly to the short layover hotel.

We can ride along as long as there is room and the cats purr when they see us.

I grew to hate the 12 hour downtown rule. A lot of "downtowns" stink. I mean NYC, ORD/MDW, SFO, BOS and so forth I love me a downtown overnight. But many downtowns are just dead while others are dangerous and some are both.

I agree. And while we're talking about Hotel Cmte decisions, what drove the change for the MIA layover? Absolutely nothing around but a hamburger place and a grocery store....and it's too dangerous to walk around at night. Was that driven by pilots complaining about the previous place? I highly doubt it.

Buzz,
One block behind the crew hotel is a "pilots" bar! Check out mycrewguide.com as I've added it to the local spots to frequent!

Amen! Some of the layovers that result from that contractual language are just stupid choices, especially on the weekend. Would be nice if some common sense could be brought into the equation when selecting layover hotels for us.

Alaska adding flights from SLC in June:

Adding daily 737 flights:
SLC SAN (737)
SLC SJC (737)
SLC LAX (737)
SLC PDX (737)

extra daily flight:
SLC SEA (OO CRJ)

So mid 2014 is the timeframe for a Delta response...

Cheers
George

Will do Sinca! I've got several layovers there coming up. Thanks.

buzz,

I was referring to only the NYC downtown hotel now requiring 15:01 or greater of a layover. I have no idea if DALPA approved the whole AirTrain thing.

That's not what I was referring to. My apologies for not specifying. Please see my post above.
