Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Third, I think we'll see a 9 replacement put in the works and its called the MD-88/90, and the 88/90 replaced by additional 60-80 737s. Thats my guess. It doesn't have to be an overnight delivery or start anytime soon, but just a steady one that does come when the large 9s hit their max max. I mean like no exemptions to keep flying them and once that happens we need to chop the wings off so the next AirTran doesn't get them.
Anyone that goes to a web forum for "truth" vice "opinion"... well let's just say he probably believes Katie Couric's reporting is unbiased...

I received my information from the same place alparomeo did. The poster I am sure will provide you with a link to their comments.
A merger with Delta and Northwest provided alot of fat that has to be tapered. Look for a 20 percent correction in the employee count of delta in the near future. It is the reality of the business.

My source is the quarterly webcast from your management team and the Morgan Stanley conference call. They talked about three triggers: The first credit card processor is triggered at around $1.2 billion. When that triggers, the processor gets to hold back a large portion of your receipts until they have their contractual cash cushion. The second processor kicks in a little after that. It is almost inevitable that the first hold back will trigger the second. I believe your exit financing is callable when you reach $980 million in cash or somewhere thereabouts. I think your unrestricted cash was about $1.6 billion on June 30. My guess is you are down to $1.3 billion or so now. Delta had $5.5 billion cash on June 30.

I usually don't like to brag or gush over myself, but if you are looking for someone who is "in the know" feel free to pm me.
Any source to corroborate that? Also interesting that in the CVG roadshow they are saying 2010 for the DC9 30/40, but Dickson when pressed in DTW said it depends on the need and there was no firm retirement date. DC9 fleet manager said the same thing in separate correspondence.
As the DC9, I hope it sticks around for a long time even if there is a replacement showing up on property. The more the merrier on the mainline side. Although I'd like to see the cockpit update, maybe at least to look like some MD-82s and stuff that are kind of a cross between the 88 and 9. I need an FMS because I don't know where my enroute charts are.
I also agree that we may see more 73N's. There may be a few on the used market in short order. For that fact is the price is right we may pick up a bunch of 777's, 320's or anything else for that matter.
The 90's in China are proving to be a little more difficult to obtain that we would like. That may leave the door open for other options.

Also, just thinking but with some of the new flight time and rest rules leaking out, there is going to be a major difference in what we can do today and what we will be able to do. In effect the company will want to schedule 11 hr turns, try to reduce the number of bodies on an international flight etc. That right there is leverage to get some gains we need. It needs to be done to protect the jobs here, but if they want turns to LAX from ATL, we may be able to get a few things in return.
Just Food for though. I see them coming to DALPA shortly after these are announced.

Other thing is they talked about the 100 seater and that the A319 might be the perfect fit.
MD-90 pay for having 160 seats was brought up by quickly avoided
Great stuff.
1. Someone better clue the NWA gate agents in on just how important our "heavy metals" are to the bottom line. Been hearing some horror stories on the HVPs and their treatment at some of the Delta N/Delta S combined bases.
2. I'd love to know what possible things could be done to efficiently move pax between LGA and JFK. Seriously.
3. Commuter policy improvements? Can you add some DEETS? Hybrid how?

JG started to give details about the commuter policy but then stopped himself. Suspect this is in negotiations now. He did say current policy was to get anyone to work and went on to say schedulers had direction to PS folks (during IROP) and he got the vertical head nod from the GM CR&P.
Thanks. I hope it's more than a bump in the number of days out that the J/S may be reserved (not sure how that would change anything at all). I've never actually had to use the "call in honest" policy, but I've had to pad my commute with some ridiculous amounts of time.
