Wow....Finally figured out how to get to the DALPA Blog. What an utter joke!
23 years at Delta including service to DALPA as a DPN volunteer in the early 2000's. This is the first time I feel truly censored by my own Union.
I think an up or down vote for the DPA is coming sooner rather than later.
I just put a card in the mail.

Also, as you can see from my post count versus the time I joined, I'm basically a lurker, just doing my job at DAL and enjoying my "off" time.
Amazing that it's actually DALPA that pushed me into sending in a card!

Yeah I wish I had more self control to stay away from these things, but I do love the debate. Actually, I haven't been to the blog site, and I have no intention of going there so dALPA did me a favor by taking down the other one for a time. I didn't go for awhile, and didn't miss it, so I won't go back.... not even to lurk. But think about it.. if the reason that you sent in a card for alternate representation is because of the forum/blog, I would think your priorities are pretty tumbled as to what you are expecting from your union.... not hatin'... just looking at it from a logical perspective.

The last two times ALPA had to defend the actions of Delta pilots in Court, (that I know of) web board posts were used to target Delta pilots for depositions. If the posters could be held individually liable, that would be one thing. But, the Court potentially views what is on ALPA's board as sanctioned by the union. ( Courts generally allow the deep pockets to be pursued while letting the culpable, and broke, guys off the hook )
Should the DPA win a representational election, they will have exactly the same problem.
As an ALPA member, I do not want my dues money spent on trying to regulate and defend the uncivil behavior and opinions of individual pilots stirring the pot on their off time. It is better if the extensively written opinions of guys like me don't show up under the ALPA (or DPA) banner to drag the Delta pilots into a fight we've been trying to avoid.

Tsquare, you'd save so much time in your life on the internets if you would simply read what people write instead of the knee-jerk responses you're so famous for. Eruption didn't say he turned in a DPA card because of a forum/blog. He did so because of his union censoring debate that the union doesn't like. Here is his post below again for your review. I've bolded the point so you won't miss it if/when your knee jerks again:

OK, top this ...

No the DPA won't. DPA has already committed to free and open speech, and meetings via web technology to make meetings more accessible to pilots. DPA has been very clear that they consider meeting accessibility far more important than the theoretical protection of someone who says/does something illegal. DPA will not use that excuse as a reason to continue a strategy of purposely making meeting attendance difficult for union members who travel for a living.

If you weren't such a liberal, left-wing Obama-loving communist sympathizer, you wouldn't misread people so often. Now before you say how wrong I am, please ensure you notice my use of the word "if" to begin my sentence.
