Have heard our POI says if we came to them to get combined category status today with our mish-mash 757-200/300(Delta/NW/TWA/China) 767(ER/GulfAir/4 different engine types) the answer: NO WAY!
The real issue IMHO fleetwide is the FMS. All the other switches are turned on before push, turned off after block in, and generally not touched in flight unless the QRH says to. Could we please get a standard FMS?!
The only problem with the idea can be summed up in one word, technology.

I'm guessing but I'd think multiple categories is better for us when it comes to staffing, no? I also understand that without a speed tape on the PFD they won't do a common category between 756 and 764, whereas CAL had that and does have a 752, 753, 762, 764 common category.
I've always thought that they should engineer a touch screen FMS where the entire face is a touch screen like an Ipad.

I'm in a small town - only one optometrist (I've gone to him and he's pretty good) and he is in network - so that's not a problem - just trying to figure out if the cost is enough to justify taking the insurance and using it or just paying out of pocket with FSA dollars.
This is exactly what I'm wondering!! No one in the family uses glasses, but I for see it for me within the year or two and the wife needs them now.
If you have a Costco near you, forget Davis and budget FSA dollars. (Sam's Club would probably work too.) Huge difference in price for a pair of glasses between Costco and Pearle or Lens Crafter (50% or more in my experience). I do the Diamond HSA and limited purpose FSA. If I don't use the whole FSA, I go in for a new pair of glasses that year.

Denny,
Dumb question alert:
Do you do your eye exam at Costco too? Or just purchase the glasses there?
My son is needing a new exam & glasses. Not sure whether to make a one-stop shop at Costco for both, or have the exam done elsewhere & make the frame/lens purchase then, at Costco.
Thanks,
GJ
