I didn't hear anything remotely close to that. Who said it. PM me if you want...

You mean the 757ERs that they're putting new cabins in?

Replaced with what? the 1970's overhead panel sporting, performance limited 737-900s and 30 A321s?

752s make sense, but what would replace the ERs? The 787s are a long ways out the A330s aren't a real replacement, just a pretty different airplane. Lots of markets that work great on an ER and not something bigger. And I've heard 753s are great profit airplanes and they're fairly new compared to all the other 757s.

Fixed it for you. The company has spent a lot of capital on cabin improvements for the ER birds. They are staying for a long time.

1970's? You're being generous. This is Mercury-program technology.

Also, the 757-300's are relatively new and have the highest margin of any aircraft in the fleet. From a recent base visit: Expect them to get new interiors and put on the transcons.

Hi Fellas,
I'm a dinosaur driver (DC-9) and am starting systems study for the A-330. Also, I'm a MacBook Pro owner. I think ya'll can see this one coming. Is it absolutely necessary to get bootcamp to access the study materials on the thumb drive? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what the magic 8 ball says about fleet, but I know that RA said yesterday that between now and 2016 we will take delivery of 180 mainline and 2 class regional aircraft.

I expect 70 new regional jets so that leaves 90 mainline jets.

They will then retire 150 additional 50-seaters cutting the 50-seat fleet from 260 down to 100-125 in the next 2 years.

They will then retire 50-60 mainline jets.

But that's at 2016. If on January 2017 the plan is to drop more mainline, he didn't say. He just stopped at 2016.

But I don't think the 753 is going anywhere, but the original 739 order mentioned replacing the domestic 763s. Not the ERs. I do know the retirement of some ERs have been mentioned a time or two but I don't remember what that entailed.

Rest assured, unless Jesus returns in the next 30 years, most all of our current beloved Boeing products will have been turned into aluminum and back into some sort of Boeing 737 product. They will all be retired and die eventually.
