If you were so convinced that it was going down this way, I would think that you would have loaded up on DAL common to take advantage of it. But I guess you'd rather just keep on thinking like an hourly worker, and whine when the ball doesn't bounce your way.

Stock's over $26 so far... THERE is something to smile about.

I've never seen one in the states, but you will see some pretty nice stuff rolling around the streets of Dubai.

I think it was this one:

I've also seen a few McLarens running around over there, I don't think they pass the test to be imported to the USA, I've not seen one over here:

I've gone back and forth through the years on Gold HRA and the Diamond HSA, and I think the Diamond is the better plan particularly if your family is a heavy consumer of healthcare. I've got two special needs kids and a wife with some health issues, and we hit the Diamond deductible by March every year.

I've tried the Gold plan hoping it would save me some money on two different occasions, but it did not. That being said, I think the Diamond has gotten a little worse through the years as they have raised the deductible and added coinsurnace.

One advantage of the Diamond is that there is no prescription deductible. It is just included in with the medical deductible, whereas with the Gold you have a medical deductible and a prescription deductible. Again if you are a heavy user, then the Gold's dual deductibles (medical & prescription) aren't too far off from the Diamond's high deductible but you pay more per month for the plan and the coinsurance is higher.
Thanks for all the info. Yes she's our first! We do see docs a bit more than usual. We're already up to $5K in expenses so far this year. Im hoping the tax savings of the HSA will offset the cost difference of the HRA., even though the online calculator says the HRA is our best bet.

Giddeeeeup.
Hope you're right about that. I'm still concerned at how we will respond in the day and age of crackberry day trader autolinked index funds where a billion dollar profit that's less than YoY results in a stock tanking and the BOD pushing for a return to the numbers by any unsustainable means possible. IOW, I think we're about done with shrinking to profitability as an effective stratedgy and a hit to the YoY numbers is the inevitable result from being in any way bullish or competitive in the marketplace against others, which I believe we will have to do, yet am concerned about us having the stomach to do.

Hopefully the debt reduction is as cash flow positive as many have projected and that enables us to offset what will have to soon become a very significant drop in the YoY yield numbers as we stop shrinking, start "growing" (only partially back to pre-shrinkage levels of course) and get into the inevitable capacity/yield/marketshare battles with the dellusional dual subsidized fantasy orderbook ME carreirs and the domestic endless growth mode LCC's.

I really don't think that the day trading crackberry crowd is going to affect this plan all that much. True that the mantra of the day trader is to trade the rumor rather than to trade the news, and with the fickle herd mentality of Wall Street there is always an outlier that could cause a large downtick in the stock. The problem with that thinking is that if one truly subscribes to that he will only have a mattress full of gold dust. The mitigation is that the stock is now on the S&P which will dampen any swings due to day trader profit taking.. JMHO.

That being said. I agree with you that the shrink to profitability playbook is in the trash. Even with a retarded dysfunctional federal government that gives not a tinker's dam about it's own industries, we are on a great trajectory, and as long as UAL is still in stick shaker we can keep our foot on the gas. I AM concerned about that when they do get things going. They will be a very formidable competitor....

One question that stuck in my mind about the conference call was that Ed (I think) said the Virgin JV is set to start on 1 Jan. Shouldn't we be in some sort of contract talks about that?

Interesting remarks about NRT as well, it being our most profitable hub, but that we're trimming capacity and will continue to do so. I guess they are looking forward at Haneda's effects on Narita. One guy asked about UAL, and how can we be so bullish... basically RA said we're just focused on us, but that the Virgin agreement will really boost us in NYC, where we face direct competition with UAL. Sounds like EU is still in the crapper. We are picking up a lot of financial services business as banking starts slowly spooling up again, and LHR is key to that business in NYC. And just to add to the pot: 4,8,3,3 is a joke in light of all this.

Those of us who wonder "why do all these folks fly back from New York carrying appliances in plastic sacks" now have an answer. The mark up from taxes and stores total 400% on the Sony Play Station in Brazil.

Literally cheaper to fly to New York and buy one.

There is a lot of confusion and inaccurate information spreading online about Brazil’s import tax policies online and the PlayStation 4 retail price, so we’d like to set the record straight: of the R$3,999 gamers pay, 63% of the retail price goes to offset the various taxes that are applied in the process of importation.
Sony says Bazil is "typical." Good for us I guess.

Figure mark up around here is about 5 to 10% retail and 7% tax.
