Expect good refinancing of our debt, making payments much less; ergo creating free cash flow.
Cash flow = bucks.
Bucks= Buck Rogers
Standby for good fights for Seattle, Asia and against ME carriers.
Giddeeeeup.
Time for a raise. Oh, wait. Not until 2015. Where's a Dubinsky when you need him?

The union has only two choices, Dubinski said--"concessions to an outsider or investment in the airline by the employees. There is no good third choice."
The results were disastrous. The Board brought in Glenn Tilton.

Look 8 minutes in. Then go to the 10 minute mark.

Unlike United, we should be well positioned for C2015.
The problem will be the next next Gen small jets and renewal of the MD88 fleet.
The previous MEC Chairman (and most Reps) acceptance of Delta pilots being just another seat at the table will complicate negotiations. We could get whipsawed. We can fix that. I will lobby our incoming MEC Chair (whoever that will be) and continue working on my Reps.

Delta medical plan question?
Sorry to sidetrack the usual we didn't get/ask for enough debate.
Just got back home with a newborn girl last week. Does anyone have any suggestions about the HRA gold vs the HSA diamond? Thanks, now back to the original scheduled programming.

That's an unfortunate aspect of being on reserve with a domicile layover. Almost every time I've been rerouted into one, I've ended up getting called 5 minutes later with the balance of the trip on my schedule. Raw groups for the win!
I sure never mind the extra night at home. Not as good of a deal for a commuter.

That is exactly what happened to me. Released to domicile and immediately reassigned the same trip. But the night at home was nice!

Congratulations on your new girl! Is it your first?
I've gone back and forth through the years on Gold HRA and the Diamond HSA, and I think the Diamond is the better plan particularly if your family is a heavy consumer of healthcare. I've got two special needs kids and a wife with some health issues, and we hit the Diamond deductible by March every year.
I've tried the Gold plan hoping it would save me some money on two different occasions, but it did not. That being said, I think the Diamond has gotten a little worse through the years as they have raised the deductible and added coinsurnace.
One advantage of the Diamond is that there is no prescription deductible. It is just included in with the medical deductible, whereas with the Gold you have a medical deductible and a prescription deductible. Again if you are a heavy user, then the Gold's dual deductibles (medical & prescription) aren't too far off from the Diamond's high deductible but you pay more per month for the plan and the coinsurance is higher.
Does anybody know what the line item "Med Surtax" on our 10/15 paycheck is?
