I just was showing the two days apart announcement on canceling SFO-NRT and adding the other. Both were/are 767-300ER

With the 316 slot scope change, the plan is not to add from what I can tell.

I'm in BOS all the time. True, not international, but we've expanded our gates to the other terminal. I like the trend.

Delta said this month it will add six daily Seattle-San Francisco flights starting in March, with a seventh flight to be added in June. It will add two daily Seattle-Las Vegas flights in January, with two more in April, bringing the total to five. It will add two daily Seattle-Los Angeles flights in June, bringing the total to seven. Regional partners will operate most of the new service.

The last sentence sums up this news that would otherwise be encouraging. In the hubs we really care about (NYC and now SEA), we use primarily RJs. Delta strategy: "We WILL beat them, 76 seats at a time."

Just look at the disparity of narrowbody Captain seniority out west vs. out east. There isn't even an narrowbody category in SEA... thanks to our efforts to revitalize RJ economics by permitting more large RJ's at the mainline. United and Alaska use mainline aircraft on that route.

What's left of Cincinnati coming under attack. Should be good news for pilots of what was once known as Comair (now a darling of airline memorabilia shows)

Low-cost carrier Allegiant Air is expected to announce Tuesday it will start flights at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport – bringing another discount airline to the region and ending a growing controversy over Allegiant’s interest in Lunken Airport.

The Las Vegas-based vacation airline plans to launch flights to two Florida destinations – Orlando and Punta Gorda, a Gulf Coast community halfway between Sarasota and Fort Myers.

Flights, which will not be daily, are expected to begin in February.

CVG has called a 10 a.m. Tuesday press conference.

CVG and Allegiant officials declined comment.

The Enquirer first reported Allegiant Air’s interest in coming to the region early this year.

Allegiant’s decision could be a win-win for the region, long plagued by some of the nation’s highest airfares at CVG. The airport lands its second discount airline this year; Allegiant joins Frontier Airlines, which became the first low-cost carrier to fly out of CVG since the late 1990s.

Allegiant’s arrival is another indication local travelers are embracing low-cost service after years-long dominance by Delta Air Lines. Orlando, home of Disney World, is the fourth-most popular destination for local travelers at CVG, according to federal transportation data.

The once-thriving Delta hub had been hampered by years-long downsizing by the dominant carrier since 2005. But Delta’s cuts have leveled off this year at CVG, and the Allegiant news comes a week after Frontier announced it is expanding at the airport. Frontier launched a daily, nonstop flight to Denver in May. In February, the airline plans start flights to Trenton, N.J., which serves the Philadelphia and New York City regions.

I have to laugh. After years of bashing Delta and clamoring for a "LCC" in CVG, they're finally getting one... one they deserve!!!
