We hear you Bucking Bar and we agree. You need not have edited.
The Dude cannot abide petty backroom infighting amongst our reps when there is business at hand.
Those who are more concerned about the "leak" than the merits of the LOA need to re-think their priorities.

I have taken my wife all over the world and when necessary, use crew privileges, where the station allows. This is one of the few good deals we have left in this business.
After all we've lost, so peeps can travel for less than it cost 20yrs ago, I don't really care what the passengers think about my wife/family accompanying me on those rare occasions.
I say take her and enjoy... it's a great layover for the spousal unit.

Not yet.
I'm told there are reps in opposition, but the final vote isn't until tomorrow.
I'll only believe it when I see it, but I think the entire pilot group would stand in unison and render a crisp salute to our MEC members if they do muster the courage to finally say no to one of management's wishes after all these years of being so "constructive".
Even those among us who have supported the course our union has taken since the troubles began way back with Letter 46 would breathe a sigh of relief to see that we haven't been totally neutered.
This dog of an LOA seems like it might be a good place for the MEC to demonstrate exactly that.

Got a chance to stand in one of Timbo and Scambo's engines today over at Tech Ops following a maintenance check flight.
Wow. That is some heavy metal.
Definitely not as good as Oregon cheerleaders but still pretty cool.
Not sure I believe it, but the mechanic who lent us a ladder to climb up there said the GE90-115 puts out more thrust at idle than a MD-88 at full rated takeoff power.

I don't know how much it puts out at flight idle, but I do know if you are light, it will float on down the runway at about 10' in ground effect for a looooonnnngggg way!

The good news is, it's got really good brakes on those 12 main tires!
