Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

You've been out of the MEC bureaucracy since our former MEC chairman was voted out. Thus you haven't seen recent numbers for quite some time.
I didn't say NRT is a money machine. That's your characterization in response to challenging me on whether I knew exactly how profitable the NRT hub is. I gave you my answer, and you chose the mis-characterization through exaggeration tactic.
As to why NRT is shrinking, I believe it is congruent with our management's public stance on capacity discipline. Our Europe operations have been seeing it for some time, and NRT hasn't really felt it yet. But the main reason I believe NRT is scheduled to shrink is that management is already anticipating getting exactly what they want from our MEC...which is the removal of the 316 slot per week requirement of our scope clause. Once that limitation is removed, Skymark can take over with their lower cost structure, and the NRT yields are magically stronger than ever.

I think our management's stance is more due to the fact that UAL and AMR both have partners in Japan and we do not. UAL and AMR can more effectively compete in those markets whereas our costs are probably higher. Can I prove it? No.. but it makes sense. We are the major that is left out in the cold when it comes to codeshare in Japan. I think Mr Anderson might be conceding Japan to an extent and moving on to more fruitful pastures.... China. And as I said before, I like NRT too, and I have always enjoyed going there for a good gyoza fix, but does it truly have a financial future for DAL? I can guarantee you that it's future and it's past are probably not the same....

Not a ton of expansion but it's better than a sharp stick in the eye....

[QUOTE=Roadkill;1488821]Mike,
Despite what dalad said, at AUA there are sometimes long lines for non-crew members.
--Entry into AUA isn't too bad unless you land when there are several flights, there is a separate line for Airline Crew, you go through that and show passport to AUA folks and that's it. The other lines move pretty fast too, and there are 5 or 6 of them all fee.... ... .. .
Roadkill,
I am very impressed with the passion you have exhibited to spend the time to pound all that out and will definitely take it under strong advisement. Thank-you. Incidentally, I don't take the United Pilot and wife story at face value and think that it was more a case of TSA keeping there numbers up, but I will spare the good people here yet another anti-government rant. So again thanks!

Could this be the first LOA ever sent back?

Is it your contention that if management wants something, we must give it because you just can't see what leverage we have to fight it?
Wow.

My apologies, much like DAL mgmt of old, I didn't even think of the west coast, just focused on the east coast long haul directs. Those have shrunk. Now if I can get guys in my category to bid 330 SEA so they can go back to HKG, I'd be happy.
