Ferd's is interesting. 2 stars means he'll be on 2nd and 3rd break... the star means he'll take the takeoff and the landing.

Oh, and then there is the 6 year New Hires...

Yeah I hadn't paid much attention to it back during the vote and I too was told it was 20% for all of the money if we got about $2.5B or 10% if we didn't.

Then a Captain pointed it out the other way to a JS once and the JS told him he was wrong, they pulled out the contract and what my Captain was saying seemed legit.

Then I found that same article to all employees on Deltanet as well.

I guess that makes since why there was this exchange last year...

We’ll take our next question from Mary Jane Credeur with Bloomberg News.

Mary Jane Creduer - Bloomberg News
Hi, folks. Can you talk a little bit about how you’re going to afford that new pilot contract?

Richard Anderson - Delta Air Lines CEO
Hi, Mary Jane, this is Richard. Sorry for not saying hello. When you look at the overall value that we’re going to create as a result of unlocking the ability to refleet plus the productivity that has been built into that agreement, we’re confident that it will be an important part of our ability to get to unit cost over the next couple of years to improve our margins and our return on invested capital.

Ed Bastian – President
And, Mary Jane, this is Ed. One additional thing, we also reduced the profit sharing going forward and that’s an important part of helping to fund that cost growth.

Mary Jane Creduer - Bloomberg
Okay. Thank you.

Seems like we will be the ones who have to raise the bar.....

She kind of reminds me of my FLL based A line tonight...

Not in a visual sense, just a self image sense.
I've flown with her. She came tearing around the corner on a 767 asking me how to work the FA panel on it. Not angry, just her cats took far more priority than the 5 selectors she needed to remember. None of which would have any major consequence other than changing the lighting in the plane. But I digest...

I responded, "Uh, well... looks like everything is in AUTO, so that looks right. I'd prefer light spit, hold the mucus in my Coke, please."

She was the chick in that scene, just 40 years later. Still doing redeye transcon turns. Still telling all pilots age 60 and younger how they could be her oldest kid.

However UAL's new contract, while not exactly leapfrogging ours, is much better than the last one we were semi-patterning against, and AA and...omg...omg...IF USAir's self imposed single issue WTFYGTBMFSM contract at least puts them anywhere in the realm of average, we will be in a much better position. At that point, even if we are higher, the differential will be much less than last time.

And then there's "scope opportunities"...
Well I'll admit I don't know all the details of every single part of the contract but I will tell you this, as a 6/7 year Delta pilot my buddies at Southwest, the same seniority, get damn near double the paychecks coming home that I do. I don't think we'll be anywhere closs to even in paychecks in 2015 with the way they credit pay.
